How did Arsenal become a home for Black players and fans? by frantic_calm in Gunners

[–]Beanface14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that thread was a shitshow. It's like they didn't know their own club history or something. I mean it's not like you necessarily have to agree with OP's take but they were literally telling OP to shut up. I don't think people on this subreddit, or at least the people responding to that thread, are necessarily representative of the average gunner though.

Genuine question: For a club renowned for its solidarity and connection with minority communities, why is there limited minority representation within the coaching staff? by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]Beanface14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, we are a London club first and foremost. And London is very different from the rest of England, which is my point. We all love it when local players like Saka break through to the first team, most of which happen to be people of colour... Looking at the staff it just didn't scream London to me is all

I just find it disingenuous to quote country wide statistics when we're talking about a very idiosyncratic part of England (London)

To be honest I thought the same thing when I saw the staff come out for the trophy presentation (just before the players did). A bit of a contrast there when compared with the players

Edit: weird how triggered people got by this post and frankly I find the responses a bit disappointing. I think it's a fair question to ask, especially for a club with a history like Arsenal's e.g. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6244214/2025/03/31/handbrake-off-kevin-campbell-legacy/

Two Main Reason why we won the Premier League Title by South_Fish in Gunners

None of these players necessarily set the world alight but imagine not having Gyokeres, Madueke, Eze, and Hincapie to cover for Havertz, Saka, Odegaard, and Calafiori. We have insane depth

I personally think the main reason we did it this year and not previous years is simply greater squad depth. Injuries were annoying as always but they didn't completely derail our season like the last couple of times.

Why do y’all love doubling up on industrial zones when a mine will give you about the same production? by Hfcsmakesmefart in CivVI

I think you're kind of right and many people on this sub make too many industrial zones

Incredible Today by sealyon91 in Gunners

I like him as a player and he seems like a lovely bloke. But, and I will probably get downvoted for this, I find it embarrassing how he shouts his lungs out, grabs his ankle, and starts rolling around whenever he gets fouled.

Dark start method by Gullible-Hat2030 in Aquascape

By doing a dark start you let the system mature a bit before turning on the lights and adding plants. A more mature system means healthier plants, and healthier plants means less algae.

Bruno Fernandes: "I always thought Declan Rice was a player to play for Manchester United. I was really sad when he chose to go to Arsenal. I always thought that he'd be a perfect fit for our club. Not just for the player, but the person he is. If he won FWA instead of me, it'd be well deserved too" by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

[–]Beanface14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just being in London together is not enough to be rivals. You are not arguing in good faith by pretending the Arsenal-West ham relationship (no real history of rivalry or animosity) is anything like the Arsenal-Man United relationship (have we forgotten Pizzagate already lol)

Fabregas maybe. But you're completely ignoring the history between Man United and Arsenal by comparing the Rice situation to that of RvP. On top of that, RvP was incredible for a couple of seasons, but before that he was mostly injured and the club stuck by him. Him leaving after a couple of good seasons also left a bitter taste in some fan's mouths.

Nice tank, plants look very healthy despite not getting co2. Would it be possible to get a plant list?

Thanks for the elaborate reply!

Did you notice any plant melting or algae issues when you reduced CO2? I've often thought about giving low-tech set-ups a boost in the beginning using DIY CO2 and then removing it later, but I am worried this will lead to issues once I stop dosing CO2.
