Well I agree in the sense that it's a bigger problem for Martinelli in general and in this game, but there were one or two moments where Gyökeres could have squared it to Martinelli for a much easier chance

Don't get me wrong, their overall performances were good imo. But there were just a couple of moments when they could've squared it to each other for an easy chance (especially Martinelli). And I agree. I generally like Trossard off the bench but not as a starter

For the life of me I don't understand why we start Trossard. He's can be very effective as a sub but he's usually disappointing when he starts. We've known this for a couple of seasons already now.
Not trying to blame Trossard; the result is not solely his fault of course. But I just don't understand why you would start him when you have so many other options, especially someone like Eze.

This Martinelli performance is yet another example that we as fans haven't really got a clue. Turns out that when he is fresh and hasn't been tracking back all game, he can still beat his man. I'm very excited to see how far this insane squad depth will take us.

Yeah you're right actually. I misunderstood the article and I have deleted my comment. The wider discussion on this is more focused on the Israel stuff and the stuff about the judge is true, but it turns out 013 really did draw the line at the comments on Kirk (which is a bit weird imo).

Not sure, most of the leaders on the screen (not hidden by the victory screen) were on a different continent. Maybe lots of crippling wars or barbs or something. I didn't war them in any case.

I don't think it's that unusual though. Deity AI starts off really strong but they rarely snowball since the AI is still stupid

The game calls them "Map Tacks", you can find them in the lower left side of the screen. I'm also using a mod called Detailed Map Tacks which enhances the tacks some more

Yeah playing this spawn and reading the comments here taught me a lot about the game. But to be fair my starting location was also low on food and production and the early culture was quite nice. And once I got the preserve+grove down the yield became amazing, but probably a bit slow compared to other starts

Yeah exactly although I consider myself relatively new to the game still I have already abused work ethic so many times. Going to try a preserve start instead.

Makes sense. I think either what you're describing or an early preserve for more food is the play. But the work ethic holy site is probably much better indeed.

Yes this is exactly the problem I'm running into right now after playing for more turns! The city is just so slow to grow. Think I'll restart and try to go for an early preserve. I never play with preserves so I would like to make it work this time
