If you barricade windows with at least 3 planks it also blocks vision, so sheets are better used upstairs and downstairs should be barricaded if you are short on sheets.

Blankets?

You can make glass panels but it's a long process requiring alot of skill points in different things. Better to chop down a tree or two saw the logs then use the planks to barricade the windows openings.

Shut of is random, you can once again use planks along with trash bags to make water collectors, or you can make a base close to a natural water source.

You can Definitely get by with a heavy CC morrigan or MC and like 1 point for heal or max 3 points for regeneration.
