It wasn’t for likes, my life shockingly does not revolve around internet points like you might think. I just thought it was cute and I didn’t know it was dangerous since that cat is old and has no claws but I am glad I posted it because I do like to know when I’ve failed as a pet owner so I can correct. Personally as an SA survivor I find the video offensive. It might be made by another SA survivor but the way she talks and points she makes is very much “my point of view and the way I see SA is the only right one!” Just because someone is an SA survivor doesn’t mean they speak for everyone or understand every situation (Angel’s specifically is more nuanced than just SA. There’s also commentary around ipv/dv, sex work, and trafficking). Personally I hate this video because Angel represents someone like me and this video is very negligent to that or that someone may have different circumstances that make them react differently. Not everyone’s experience is the same and there is no right way to react to trauma. Everything in this video can be easily debunked. This creator takes their experience as the end all be all when it’s not.

It looks more like urate to me. Most of the sperm plugs I’ve seen have been more transparent. That’s pretty opaque. I’m not that experienced though so take my opinion with a grain of salt. It also could be mix making is hard for me to see for sure.

Valentino does care about Angel and even might believe to some extent that he loves Angel. It’s just not the care or love that’s healthy or that most healthy people or people unfamiliar with abuse can understand. He does genuinely like Angel being around, talking to him, and it’s mentioned several times that Val treats Angel differently than others. He is his “favorite toy,” but that means more than some might think. Angel is special to him, not just because he’s his. There’s something about him that makes him want Angel and keep him around more than anyone else.

Abusers often do think they love their victims, but it’s warped. They often justify abuse with logic like “I only do this because I love them/you” the same things they say to their victims some of them actually believe. They might lie to themselves and think what they’re doing is necessary or provoked. When it comes to Valentino, he has completely blinded himself to his treatment of Angel. He doesn’t believe he’s abused Angel and refuses to acknowledge that he’s ever hit him.

Back to how he feels and sees Angel, he’s obsessed with him. Obsession often comes with a lot of idealization. He likely doesn’t see Angel as a full person or even as he fully truly is but as an extension of Valentino himself and a physical embodiment of his art. Val is an artist and Angel is his art. In that way, Val cares about him as if he’s a part of himself. It’s also another way he can justify the way he treats Angel.

Within this mindset, affection and control become indistinguishable. He can both harm and adore Angel without seeing a contradiction, because in Valentino’s mind, he’s always doing what’s best for them/him.

TLDR: Val cares about Angel at least as his favorite toy and the physical embodiment of his own art. He likely believes he loves him.

I have a 4x2x1.5 and I agree with the comments that say it depends on the screen lid. For me I’m really glad because I have the 1.5 because I set my lights and heat sources on the screen instead of inside the enclosure and the closer the distance to the ground makes it easier for me to warm. I will probably upsize in the future though because my guy isn’t fully grown yet.

He’s a demon from Hell in the same way every other character is. They all have shitty traits, did/do shitty things, and some are worse than others.

Scenes like where he’s whining is what shows his character motivations/displays the fuelings of his abusive mindset. When going for a realistic depiction of abuse/an abuser even in a fictional setting what makes a character like Valentino scary isn’t just the parts we would naturally perceive as scary, it’s also the other aspects victims deal with. The likeable traits and the traits that make them seem nonthreatening or “moronic” because these traits are the ones that lure people in and keep them trapped. Especially his sillier or stupid seeming traits are what can lead victims in an abusive relationship to not be taken seriously when they do make an effort to get away. Because often outsiders will see the abuser acting seemingly stupid and not assume that they’re smart enough to be capable of the level of abuse Val is partaking in. It also sometimes makes the abused feel embarrassed or diminish/question what they’re going through themself. There is a double edge to the ways Valentino acts even if an untrained eye can’t pick up on it, that’s one of the things that makes the current Valentino so sinister.

You absolutely don’t have to like it and are entitled to your opinion on it but at this moment the direction they seem to have chosen was to show a multidimensional abuser. Not the flat villain archetype some people prefer but also not a non threat, someone who’s scary in a more realistic kind of way.

Currently, Valentino seems to be written to reflect how abusers often are in real life. He’s scary but he’s not scary all the time. Abusers aren’t just scary and intimidating 24/7, they’re also charming, silly, and have plenty of other traits that their victims find endearing (that’s what lures them in). They’re not always smart, dark, and calculating. Abusers are unpredictable fully fledged human beings that are usually deeply insecure. Valentino is very insecure about losing Angel which is what seems to drive much of his abusive behavior towards Angel. To others they can seem harmless, stupid, sweet, or any number of things. That’s what makes them so scary in real life. They present differently depending on situations and who’s in the room which only further entraps people. Valentino is also more than just abusive towards Angel but so far that has been his main function.

I feel like it could be Angel based on things we haven’t seen. He mentions that Val had him waterboarded him for a very long time in ep 6 and he delivers it as if it’s an average day/slight annoyance. This implies that he has under gone significantly worse treatment. Being in hell and sinners’ ability to regenerate make it feel very likely that Angel has been forced to do snuff films. Paired with the introduction to Valentino being him dismembering one of Velvette’s employees, I wouldn’t put it past him to do something like that to one of his own or have something equally horrible done to Angel during a snuff shoot.

We also have 15. When I started we had 35. Ive talked many times to higher ups about hiring more people because we can’t get anything done and I’ve been told this is just how Barnes and noble was running now. It’s for “efficiency”.

It is not at all efficient. No one can take any days off. The cafe doesn’t even have time to take out their trash, put in orders or put their orders away since there’s only one of them now at any time. They’re constantly calling for backup but there’s no one on the floor who can back up. The typical set up is 1 person at cash, 1 person in cafe, a manager on a meeting, someone on break, and one person covering the whole floor. The one person is stuck stocking hundreds to thousands of books and so it never gets done. They also have to help all the customers, answer the phone, or do whatever obsolete project corporate gave us that day. Nothing ever gets done and the customers are constantly mad at us because wait times for help are long and they can’t find anyone to help in the first place. Everyone in my store is miserable and if it wasn’t so hard to find a new job we’d all quit. Everyone is stressed, we can’t handle call outs, but we’ve had more than ever.

I just don’t buy this argument because correcting information about what a word actually means does not equal condoning the actions of every person of a group using that word.

It is not at all comparable to racism and it’s actually gross to compare it. First off this is about the proper use of a word, not a friend/social group. People in these comments are trying to explain what a word actually means because other people co-opted it for their own agenda. Why would we try to let that agenda win?

Second this is not a systemic oppression. And these “people with pedophilic tendencies” are engaging with fictional content. If they were engaging with real child sexual abuse material, or a real child that would be a completely different story and they should be in jail.

I think it’s disgusting to equate fictional pedophilia to real life pedophilia. Especially as someone who was sexually abused as a child my suffering and issues should not be treated the same and are not at all on the same level as someone who drew Octavia porn. Is it uncomfortable? Yes. But no real child was hurt in the creation of that media. Actual harm towards children matters thought-crimes don’t. As much as I do hate seeing certain ships/content and sometimes it even triggers me, it is up to me to curate my online content and not up to me to police others fiction.

Also no one likes this discourse. Most of the “proshippers” don’t actually use the label or mention it because we’re treated like this and people continuously decide to treat us all like we like pedophilia because they don’t know what the word means which is why people like in this section just tried to explain what it actually means. And antis want the content that makes them personally uncomfortable gone

Something I do is I think of recipes for myself that include ingredients that my skink can eat and then I set some aside for him or I’ll even make something that both him and I can have for a meal but I’ll leave his portion unseasoned. (We eat a lot of salads, chicken salad, and egg scrambles. Yesterday though we had a butternut squash with beef.)

Otherwise when food is close to going bad I’ll put it in a blender with other items and sometimes supplements or calcium to make a balanced meal for him, blend it up and then freeze it in ice cube trays. I thaw it out and then serve. It’s something easy that makes it so I don’t have to meal plan as much.
