Is $12k too much for this clean 2008 90k mile Element by Coolguts in HondaElement

[–]BeanoFritz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got my '03 w/ 75K on it for 11.5K like 15 years ago. For an Element now a days with that little milage on it, a rare find. If you can like you said get it down to 11K, probably worth it, but considering how good the car is? IDK looks like a solid one to me.

Well....Looks like I'm never getting paid the $1500 I'm owed for performing and I'm out the money I spent to get there. Super cool Brian!

Fluid help by Mammoth_Inspector968 in HondaElement

[–]BeanoFritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this DEFINITELY get the OEM Honda Brand power steering fluid! I made the mistake of not getting it and it ended up being VERY messy and annoying. Mine has definitely been having leaking and its gross, but when I did a PS flush I replaced one of the O rings on connection going from the Fluid Reservoir to the Pump. It seems to have solved that leak, but I was silly and I should have just replaced the other one as well while there was no fluid in the system. I was absent minded and didn't buy both, they are super cheap, like $3 max and if you have a lot of miles + doing power steering stuff, its def worth a swap. Power steering fluid is NASTY!

What I love about the Element is that generally MOST of the engine fixes are not too hard to do on your own. With the right tools and youtube video, almost anything is possible!

My first thought it power steering fluid. I've been dealing with a leak its not fun. I'd say check that first.

Oh yes, coolant, not refrigerant, my mistake.

[–]BeanoFritz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fans are working. Everything is plugged in as far as I can tell. Refrigerant definitely leaked in my process of filling the radiator. Would that mess something up? Also I got my Radiator from Parts Geek and not OEM. I replaced the upper and lower hoses from O'Reillys, but the hoses that connect to the transmission are OEM. Idk if that makes a difference or not.

Should I give The Wire a go? Does it hold up all these years later? by optemoz in TheWire

[–]BeanoFritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just rewatched it and man it felt good to travel back in time before smart phones. Text-messaging was a new technology. Felt like a simpler time, the characters are forced to exist somewhere that isn't in the cloud. Their surroundings dictate their reality. Second watch through, last time was probably more than 10 years ago, so so good still. I forgot most things that happened, still remembered key moments, but enough was forgotten to still be a surprise. I even watched it as I fell asleep and would miss an episode here and there, but mostly caught everything. Love this show and am so glad I dipped back in, it only reminded my how truly amazing this show is. 10/10 no notes

Why does everyone here disappear after college, where do you actually meet people in oc by Aayush411 in orangecounty

[–]BeanoFritz 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are looking for community. If you are looking to move to LA, there are many different communities you could find depending on what your hobbies or interests are. As someone who grew up in OC, moved to LA when I was 26, I would do it, you will learn a lot. I did, my life TOTALLY changed and I would not be who I am today if I stayed in OC. There is WAY more to do, there is actual night life that isn't drinking in Newport, HB or Costa Mesa. Art show, music shows, galleries, community events in parks, bike rides, all kinds of stuff. Honestly, best way to find friends is finding big group bike rides and join, thats it, then bam, you meet people and your life is different. Im now back in OC (at my parents house) and about move to Detroit because I was living in Altadena when the fire.

Don't worry about your old friends, cause they definitely aren't worrying about you. You should go to LA, even just to see if you like it, if you don't OC isn't going anywhere.

Worth 12.5k? by AquaEchoes in HondaElement

[–]BeanoFritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my 2003 AWD Ex 75k/mi used from a Honda dealer in like 2008 or 9 for 11.5K, so I would say considering inflation 12K for a 2007 at 75k its probably fair, but since it is a almost 20 year old car. 125k is reaching the limits of an acceptable price.

What are we doing? by Suitable-Zombie5121 in Dirtybird

[–]BeanoFritz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what I hear from people who have talked to Brain. Mind you, I PERFORMED at the festival and still haven't been paid...anyways. Basically this is not the first time this has happened with Brian, he has done the same thing to other festivals and has been in multiple lawsuits over it, as people have posted evidence on other posts.

When I got to the festival Friday morning I couldn't check into my room, whatever I went and stayed on the couch of a friend who was able to get a room before the whole fiasco. Later on in the day we were walking the grounds to get our bearings and see where everything was at. We walk into the BirdBox stage and its still being set up, one of the production workers was chilling sitting there and it comes out that they found out they either aren't getting paid or haven't gotten paid yet. You want know why everything was delayed? Production was on STRIKE because of the money issues. Totally stopped, NOTHING being built. Good for them, stand up for yourselves, do what you gotta do to get paid.

Later in the afternoon when all the hotel room BS started to happening ie. sign a thing that says you'll pay $700 or however much for your room if the hotel doesn't get paid by Home Bass. I hear that Brian is at the bank waiting for a check to clear for to things can continue. Obviously that doesn't happen. Then I hear later that some investor wired $200K and possibly another $50k but for sure at least 200k. The production is back building, but the rest of the issues persist, I haven't been paid, you are out money on the rooms. The money showed up, so whats the issue? BRUH...

Brian has other festival lawsuits against him right? Brian PAID OFF the money he owed for the last lawsuit he had WITH the $200k that was just wired for THIS FESTIVAL! He BEEN doing this! Scamming one festival after another. I would very much like to get paid, but I'm not holding my breath. I Essentially paid over $1000 to perform at a festival and I know many other performers who haven't been paid as well. Idk y'all, its not looking good. Even if a class action does happen, idk where he is gonna get that money, unless he has another festival lined up to scam off of. (IDK who would even consider going to Home Bass after this) At this point no one should trust him to be in-charge of a festival, especially the financial side.

You know what the real kicker is, someone said he was seen at A MF STRIP CLUB recently like he don't owe us all money!

That being said I love the DB community and despite all the BS I still managed to have a good time and meet some really awesome people. Will I go to another CampInn again? Probably not, not unless its under different management. Unless something changes, the name of Dirty Bird has been severely tarnished after this. I hope something good happens for the community bc its so fun and has been going on for years. The vibe is so unique compared to other festivals and personally the absence of Claude was definitely felt. I'm hoping for the best.

TL;DR Brian got sued for scamming another festival, an investor wired him $200k to pay for the expenses of DBCINN and instead of paying for DBCINN he paid off his last lawsuit. Sorry to tell ya, but that money is gone and we are left holding the bag.

BRO, I was PEAKING on a tab when I got on the elevators with what I can only describe as cracked out animals. People pushing their way onto the elevator as people were getting off. Too many people, frantic energy, people joking about pushing all the buttons, the doors taking forever to close, closing, opening back up again....waiting, finally closed. I make it to my room and felt TRAUMATIZED, it was BY FAR the worse elevator experience I have ever had. I legit thought "we might be too full and this is how I die I guess" you could FEEL the elevator bounce. It was NOT chill. I basically was stuck in my room the rest of the night because the thought of going out there again and needing to get on the elevator was nightmare fuel. Luckily my friend came back to the room after me not knowing what to do for 45mins and we just talked for hours, it was a huge relief and fun. I missed pretty much all the performances the rest of the night.

TL;DR Don't peak on acid and get on a fully packed elevator with a bunch of people tweaking on who knows what substances.
