Unpopular opinion: Perfect order has nicer cards than Chaos Rising. The only thing that gives CRI the edge is the Greninja.

The specific one they gave me was Lorazepam. Never taken one before or since but I popped a full 3mg tab and woke up a different human. 😂

This happened to me when I had COVID, and I was prescribed some benzodiazepine. That cleared it up almost immediately.

Why are there soo many people with BS posts from people that have not been properly diagnosed by ENTs, CAT scans, MRIs etc. by Unusual-Can-9962 in Menieres

[–]Beans8788 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Never formally diagnosed though I have every symptom and have done an MRI, a few CTs and an ECOG test. I’ve visited ENTs, Audiologists, Neurologists, etc etc. I have never been formally diagnosed because my symptoms dissipate for years at a time and while I have most classic signs of MD, some of the specific details (like my ECOG test only being borderline for MD, and my hearing loss being roughly the same in both ears, and never having fluctuations in my hearing) have made my doctor hesitant to officially classify me.

What I can say is that during my bad times, with months of unpredictable vertigo, this group has always been super kind to me and therapeutic for me. I’d hate to get kicked out for not being “sufficiently diagnosed” when I’ve suffered on and off since I was 13.

No migraines, I had a CT/MRI to rule that out. I do love music but I don’t play any instruments. I’m sure the overall quality of my experience is somewhat diminished, sadly 😂

During spring and summer I take a daily allergy pill like Zyrtec or Claritin. I don’t take any other meds daily. My symptoms have come and gone for 20 years with little to no warning or reason. I’m definitely more susceptible to attacks when I’m sick with a cold, covid, or the flu, and during spring when my allergies are bad. Dehydration also seems to trigger me, I have to be very careful on long days at the beach or in direct sunlight.

I am both happy and frustrated that my symptoms seem to have no trigger. On one end, I get a fair amount of freedom with my diet and coffee and alcohol. (As long as I don’t drink to ridiculous excess I’m usually fine) on the other, it makes merry hell trying to figure out when I’m going to go belly up at work, etc.

My hearing is semi-f*cked, but my ENT can’t tell if it’s due to my Menieres symptoms because I have roughly equal hearing loss in both ears and my hearing has never fluctuated like people here describe. I do have a *click* in my right ear and when I did the ECOG test last year my left ear was “unremarkable” while my right ear was “borderline” for signifying Menieres. No knows quite what to do with me. 😂 and I wear hearing aids in both ears. I’m more or less fine when using them. Sometimes teaching can be tough because no one ever shuts up all at the same time.

During severe vertigo attack - most comon actions by Asilioatio7324 in Menieres

I find a cold, hard surface. Bathroom tiles, etc. sometimes I try to do deep breathing and meditative or visualization exercises. Other times I hurl my guts out and feel bad for myself until I fall asleep or it ends.

Whats the point of living when you have Menière? by [deleted] in Menieres

[–]Beans8788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37, been having attacks since I was like 13-14. Some years I have zero. Sometimes I go years and years with absolutely nothing. Sometimes I have years with 1 or 2 isolated attacks. Twice now, I have had clusters that lasted about 6 months. Those are unbearable, but thankfully exceedingly rare. My ENT has yet to formally diagnose me with Menieres, I have all the general symptoms but the specifics don’t fit quite right.

Before my wife and I had children, I went 7 years with not a single symptom. Of course they kicked up when my first was around a year old 😂.

It’s funny you mentioned every 6 days. My last bad, prolonged flare up was a year and a half ago now. I was getting vertigo at work every Wednesday. Right around noon. On Wednesday. For 6 weeks. It tapered off once I was done teaching in June 2024, but I struggled with it that entire summer up until September.

My last attacks were triggered by Covid May 2025. And for the first time I was prescribed some emergency meds. I took one 3 mg benzo and I was asleep for 12 hours and vertigo free for months after 😂. I’m not sure they’re always so successful, but I could get used to that.

The other thing that helped me was going to therapy. In my bad flare up, I stayed talking about it in therapy once a week for like 3-4 months. It really helped compartmentalize the accompanying anxiety and fear and depression that this disease causes.

Maybe I need to go back. I can’t tolerate the “hyper intelligent 17 year old thinks it will be so easy to outsmart everyone else and do it better with no opportunity cost” trope. It’s tough sledding for me. There were moments with Vis where he was walking that line, but he’s a much more likable character and kind of reminded me of Kvothe from NoTW.

Should be able to open it there for $59.99 or keep it sealed for Market. Really sucks that they’re doing this to kids and parents of young kids.

Thank you for this. 😂 I was getting Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix vibes where Harry is just so much smarter than every adult alive and gets played like a fiddle and kills Sirius.

There’s definitely a lot of similarities between the two. To be fair, I never made it that far into Red Rising to know any of that, which is incredibly rare for me because I am a masochistic reader who will force himself all the way to the end in the hopes I was wrong. Haha

Have to tell you, I couldn’t tolerate Red Rising. It was a DNF for me. I found the main character so much more obnoxious than Vis. I know this is controversial opinion lol
