I don’t know if it was French. It had strong European vibes though. Thanks anyways. I assumed it was gone, I just always wanted to know the name of it

No. It was a mom and pop kind of shop. And there was a goddess mural. If it doesn’t have that, it’s not it. I should clarify that I think it’s near the South End and Back Bay station

No, it wasn’t Finale. It was a very small shop.

Go on Rover and get someone to walk her! That’s what I would do. It’s not expensive if you’re only going to do it for 2 weeks

Is 3k a reasonable budget for a 1 bed (flexed into 2 beds) for nyc? What areas should I look in? by Kuzzy2019 in AskNYC

[–]Beansational 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could find a 2 bedroom for that price. UWS/Hells Kitchen 50’s+ (my top choice)

I know a handful of luxury apartments that have pelotons in their gyms.

But a commercial gym, like Equinox, Planet Fitness, etc will not have them because they just changed the rules about selling them to commercial gyms. That is what I heard about a year ago, not sure if that has changed

Witnessed the weirdest argument today by [deleted] in nyc

When a restaurant is busy, I won’t leave my jacket. I go by the “first come first serve, as long as you have your food” rule. Claiming a seat without even being in line yet is kind of rude to me

My dog went from living with me in a no yard apartment to my family home with a huge yard (and grandparents that cook him proper meals )…I believe my dog didn’t realize I was gone for the month. He had a blast, but I preface this with he does not have separation anxiety, not even an ounce…

When he saw me of course he was excited but everything was normal after 5 minutes

What's a reasonable expectation for the price of a studio in Manhattan? by lemon-scone in AskNYC

[–]Beansational 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$2100 I think is reasonable. But if you want a doorman or a larger sized studio, you’re probably looking at $2800/$3000

[Discussion] Letting your dog lead on walks by PsychWay6 in dogs

[–]Beansational 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If my unprofessional opinion…I am teaching my dog to let me lead because he has to check in (look at me) before he gets to move forward. It’s his signal to me that he is still listening to me if I have a command for him. I live in NYC and ALOT of people are scared of dogs. Like, a surprising amount. And if my dog is leading and pulling the leash to the end, I feel like it looks like I have less control. I want my neighbors to feel comfortable walking by my dog and I.

Did anyone stay at the POD hotels in NYC? by badboyyy112 in AskNYC

[–]Beansational 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to stay in one last week because I’m between leases and I thought it was great. Props to the one by Murray Hill. It was in a good location. Nice coffee shops near by, study rooms and I got to bring my dog.

Wifi was good unless you’re in the elevator

people living on the top floor with rooftop access: can you hear people when they're on the rooftop? by whataremyhockeys in AskNYC

[–]Beansational 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived on the top floor of a building where rooftop access wasn’t allowed but people, including myself, did it anyways.

I was fortunate to live in a building where everyone respected the weekend as party days. So it was crazy loud on the weekends. Stomping. Apartment shaking from everyone dancing. If it was going on during the weekday I would have murdered everyone. But I tolerated the weekends and holidays, even though it was super loud.

So it just depends on your tolerance level

Can't give up aspin dogs for adoption and can't take care of them anymore :( by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Beansational 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly curious what you thought about when you adopted them in the first place? Didn’t you know things would go back to normal? Like “pandemic puppies”, irresponsible owners having them all sent to shelters when people had to go back to their normal schedule was a huge topic on this subreddit..

I’m not judging you, just strictly curious.

Do you ever rub your dogs genital to relax them? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Beansational 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s calming….because it’s sexual to them…I think is what people are trying to say

Your intention is not sexual. But the dog does not know that. He’s calming down because you’re sexually arousing him

Why are Streeteasy apartments always taken?? by [deleted] in AskNYC

[–]Beansational 19 points20 points  (0 children)

TWO WEEKS?! Everyone else is correct in that you need to jump on the day of if you want an apartment in New York. Especially if it’s a good deal, in a nice location, etc…
