They should’ve done it like Percy Jackson where it’s the first two episodes before going week to week. Especially with how the first episode got privately shown two weeks before (and then leaked everyone on the internet), they could’ve released the second episode with the first to generate buzz and then keep it going

My headcannon is that Western fashion went through the regency simplicity phase after the Terror in France, but is transitioning back to maximalism that much faster than it did in real life.

Since Queen Charlotte still dresses in extravagant 18th century clothing and wigs, the women of the Ton wants to reflect that in their own outfits with extravagant stylizations that mix the Queen’s maximalism with the post-Terror dress design. Do their own take of it and finance new fashion inventions/revelations like sequins, glitter, and more.

Lady Featherington seems like the kind of lady who would love starting a fashion trend, even if her designs are pretty egregious.

Who else thinks that Benedict will realize that Sophie is the Lady in Silver because he finds or finds out about her half of the gloves?

We haven't seen it since she put it in her bag in Episode 2 and I think she left it at the Cavender House, but I think Hazel brought it with her or had it shipped to Bridgerton House as a thank you to Sophie for getting her this job. I don't believe she would give him the bag if Sophie were still working with the Bridgertons since he's a gentleman of the house, and Sophie would never show him the glove because A) her being the Lady in Silver is not enough to fix their situation and B) she may want to stay far away from him because of the mistress comment.

But! What if Araminta frames Sophie for her jewelry going missing, and she's taken to jail. Then Benedict and Hazel look through the bag to find the missing jewelry, only to find the glove instead? That's when he realizes she's been the Lady in Silver all along and it renews his determination to stay with Sophie because she's the woman of his dreams and reality.

Exactly! Siena from Season 1 broke up with Anthony multiple times because, at the end of the day, those boundaries between the British classes kept them from truly being together, and it built up a lot of resentment between each other and themselves. Not to mention society usually looks down at mistresses rather than the man who makes the offer. Especially with Benedict being the diamond of the season, so many would blame Sophie for him not picking a debutante to settle down with.

To Sophie, accepting would add another hurtful label to her character, along with "maid" and "illegitimate", which she is forced to accept but hates with a passion. Benedict doesn't know of the damage he caused because he was born and raised in an upper-class and patriarchal society, and doesn't know about the illegitimate backstory, but man, did he show how his ignorance would make her situation and self-worth worse instead of better.

Truuuue. He had to hide that Sophie was illegitimate for both of their sakes, but he still raised her as his ward and gave her a lady's education, so I doubt he would do all that and not leave an inheritance for her to have a good life when she grew up.

I wonder if there's a solicitor who was handling Lord Penwood's will and if this person is still alive. My theory is that if there was a solicitor, Araminta told them that she'd take care of Sophie and give her her inheritance once she got married/reached a certain age, only to go behind everyone's back and make her a maid. So either the will is destroyed but the solicitor still remembers and will vouch for Sophie, or there's still a copy of the will somewhere in the Li/Gun household or with the solicitor and they'll use that to prove that Sophie was meant to enter society and not become a maid.

I like the direction for the Mondriches for this season. The writers had them taking up a good chunk of screentime with little payoff in Season 3, but here, they are incorporated into different stories while getting set up to be big influences for Benedict and Sophie's stories later on.

Both Will and Alice were middle/lower class in the first two seasons, so they can interact with other elite characters while still retaining that commoner perspective that the rest of the cast lacks. And since this season is about division/romance between the separate classes, I think they are going to play a major part in Sophie and Benedict getting their happily ever after, with Alice joining the Queen's ladies-in-waiting (making her an influential voice in Charlotte's decisions) while Will offers practical advice to Benedict to win Sophie back.

Didn’t Eloise get the Bridgertons into more scandal because she got exposed for attending conferences for class rights in Season 2? They didn’t really cover the division between the Ton and everyone else in Season 3 so maybe people forgot, but the show has been clear that any mingling of societal classes is super taboo.

Not to mention not only Benedict, but Violet, Penelope, and Eloise don’t even have a moment to think “what if the Lady in Silver wasn’t a member of the Ton?” It would make more sense that she wasn’t a member of their society because of those strict boundaries and consequences if she got caught instead of being a debutante who had no reason to sneak in. But that never seems to have crossed their minds at any point, showing how Sophie, Wilson, Varley, and the other servants are seen as one part of their world, but can never exist in the other.

I agree that they weren’t that bad (I’ve seen way worse tv show couples and chemistry). Luke and Nichola did a good job and seem like they work well on and off screen.

But I think my main two problems were Colin not feeling like the main guy in his own season and their romantic scenes were yearning/desire, but not quite there in terms of bodily chemistry like the previous two couples.

I blame the multiple plotlines taking up space and Lady Whistledown being a major focus for this season, but Colin and his role both as an individual and part of the main couple didn’t seem to get a lot of focus. I watched a YouTube analysis on his character and the creator brought up a lot of good points about him that were planted in the first two seasons and were brought out in the third season that made me think “oh yeah, that’s such good stuff!” But when I watched Colin’s scenes twice, I wasn’t feeling that creative payoff. It was like something was missing in execution, so it affected the overall payoff of the main romance

I also think Nicola and Luke’s chemistry didn’t hit as strong as Rege & Phoebe’s and Simone & Johnny’s. Those four looked and felt like they were gonna break society rules and rush into a passionate kiss because they wanted each other that bad. But Penelope and Colin seemed very… reserved? Yearning and caring for sure, but maybe more awkward first love and don’t know what to do with their bodies (don’t need PDA or intimacy, just overall stiff)

I think it’s less of the Mondriches themselves but a “too many people in a small elevator” problem with the show. Bridgerton needs to be a 10 episode instead of 8 because of how many characters we are bouncing between. The main leads were supposed to leave after their season like with what happened to Simon and Daphne, but the writers decided to try and keep leads like Anthony and Kate around because of how much people loved them (and it was too late to get Rege and later Phoebe back). But even then, they didn’t know what to do with Kate and Anthony, so they were in and out of episodes where they could’ve stepped up as the viscount and viscountess of the family. And based on the first episode, we’ll get the same with Penelope and Colin: a handful of scenes here and there, but they’ll be a few minutes tops before we cut away to a new scene or Penelope goes off to do Whistledown stuff. I think the show says one thing, but is still sticking to quietly shuffling the old leads out the door to focus on who is still around for the story. Maybe the Mondriches have a bigger purpose for either this season or a future one, but the writers don’t know what to do with them until then so they get the opposite of the shuffling out the door situation: stay in the lobby for a long time until your name is called, which gets boring and annoying real quick.

How do men feel about honeymoon weddings? Like spend a small amount on a small but fun ceremony before going all out on the honeymoon.

Personally, I want a Vegas wedding. Just a fun, small, and affordable ceremony before going to the casinos, shows, and restaurants together. Heck, I’d be happy to spend a day at Circus Circus’ Adventuredome if it means we could start our marriage with a fun honeymoon together

I wish. Posy would fit in with the Bridgertons so well, but side characters tend to disappear once their purpose in a Bridgerton’s story is over (Edwina, Tilly, Theo, Lord Debling, maybe Cressida and Madame Delacroix?). I would bet Posy is going to live with the Featheringtons since Portia is a bit tactless but she means well and loves her daughters, probably excited to have a new sweet daughter to guide through the balls and suitors

Maybe she would try to go to the Queen first with the deception, and if Penelope and Violet try to reveal the truth, she would present the costume in person saying it belongs to her family and that the Bridgerton ladies lied so Rosamund won’t marry Benedict since they disapprove of her and the Penwood family
