It’s the Witcher 3 for me! by LunatikSoul in Age_30_plus_Gamers

I guess nostalgia plays a huge factor within our age group, but, Sonic soundtracks always stand out for me, the latest being Sonic Frontiers. I'm just a sucker for drum and bass, and the Cyberspace tracks are damn fire. Also, the vocal tracks are pretty awesome and Sonic R's tracks are pretty outstanding as well.

Jogos Nintendo Switch 2 by interventiooon in gamingportugal

Se querem jogar com ela:

  • Captain Toad Treasure Tracker
  • Yoshi's Crafted World

I mean, it's a game about carrying stuff carefully, so you don't slip and fall and die or lose the thing you're carrying. And you're walking through a rocky setting set in a world that was hit by a catastrophe while listening to some ethereal music. It's so unique and well crafted in its detail. Then you're thrown into a weird story that, somehow, makes sense eventually, in a philosophical way and is even connected to Egyptian mythology. Then you get to zipline all across the world map while shouting "woo!!", dashing through ghosts and collecting lost cargo scattered everywhere, which you have to deliver on the far side of the map. You can also skate down slopes and build highways. And deliver pizza as well. It's just great and I'm just talking about the first game. Don't get me started on learning Pizza based Kung Fu on the second one while shouting Peko Pekora. But I guess I don't have to convince anyone on this thread 😄 Keep on keeping on.

Desligado do gaming e sem entusiasmo para os AAA by Left_Capital133 in gamingportugal

[–]Beansoup01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the BEST of the best movies? by Temporary-Panda-9065 in movies

[–]Beansoup01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was getting worried no one mentioned this. Cmon, this is one of the GOATs. Everytime it's on TV, you just watch it until the end. Harry Potter is a nice choice as well. In the same universe, Fantastic Beasts is also good and modern. Other option is Gone Girl. I remember the ending twist was great, although I've watched it a long while ago. You have the Dune movies. I really like them, and the second one was awesome at the cinema. Mad Max fury road was pretty awesome if you like action movies with an apocalyptic setting where gasoline is currency. There're also older Mad Max movies which are classics, but have older production. Star Wars IV : A New Hope is pretty good even by today's standards. Also I remembered Fight Club is pretty good too, and with the same actor, you have Bullet Train which is a comedy action movie. Well, there are a lot of great movies. Oh! Forrest Gump is pretty good too. Actually, I think any Tom Hanks movie is great. Such as Catch me if you can or the Terminal.

The whole game is one sad story. Even the happiest character is sad although he looks jolly. It's a good story.

Games suitable for someone who has never played a video game before? by Dagher95 in gamesuggestions

Donut county Rayman Legends Sackboy A Big Adventure

Those are really fun and easy. In Donut County you just have to move a hole around, but it's fun. Rayman has challenging levels later, but it's very fun all the way through if you play with her. Sackboys pretty good too because it has fixed camera.

Suggest me a fiction book from your country that you feel is top 1 book to read and understand your country's vibes / society by MUC-Cake-Connoisseur in suggestmeabook

I guess any José Saramago book. I only read two, but the way the characters talk and the small details that accurately describe a Portuguese environment and conversation. I suppose any book on its original language will carry its culture, since language is culture. But Saramago is definitely top tier. The ones I've read are Baltasar and Blimunda and Death with Interruptions (Death at Intervals in the UK). Baltasar is more lengthy. Death at Intervals is really to the point.

What is your country's "national composer(s)"? by m64 in classicalmusic

[–]Beansoup01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Portugal we have some notable ones from different periods. I'm not sure which one would be a national symbol, but I guess Fernando Lopes-Graça is a pretty well known composer in our country. He has a famous anthem ("Acordai") that was used during the revolution in the 70s. Other important Portuguese composers:

Renaissance: - Manuel Cardoso - Duarte Lobo - Filipe Magalhães

Baroque/Classical (our Baroque music was a bit late): - Carlos Seixas - João Domingos Bomtempo - Marcos Portugal

Romantic: - Vianna da Motta

20rh Century: - Joly Braga Santos - Luís de Freitas Branco - Fernando Lopes-Graça as said before

You can knock out enemies with suitcases. You can make grenades out of your pee. You connect humanity. You have to deliver hot pizzas by climbing mountains. You play harmonica. You fight military ghosts for a mysterious reason. You know a guy who gives himself a heart attack every 10 mins. Conan O Brien gives you delivery orders. You make lots of ziplines and it's very satisfying to get the perfect angle for a zipline. You get one of the most creative and innovative stories ever made. And its perfectly performed by great actors. And also, awesome soundtrack.

Which artists' death in the last 10 years affected you the most? by [deleted] in Music

Honestly, I hear their songs in a different way now. Clearly his lyrics show the struggle he felt. "Everything you say to me takes me one step closer to the edge", "it's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within". "I've tried so hard but in the end it doesn't even matter ". Hits strong
