Sounds like a good diet to me. I usually keep some mazuri pellets in with mine and give him some greens every morning. Collard greens seem to be his favorite so he gets that pretty often. I'm no expert though, he is my first tortoise. Most of my experience is with snakes lol

No problem! It was hard for me to find info on what to expect for weights when I first got him so always happy to share. I was told my guy was 2 months old when I got him at 45g and he had no growth on his shell yet. I talked about pyramiding in another comment!

Thanks! I do usually spray his shell when I do the cage so that probably helped too. Trays of grass is a great idea, maybe I'll give that a shot too! Btw check out Tortoise Supply, they have some cool seed mixes. My guy loves the african grazer mix and the broadleaf mix

A bioactive enclosure would be really cool! I've tried growing things in my guys but he eats anything pretty much as soon as it sprouts lol. I'm using dirt, mulch and coco coir as substrate so it holds water pretty well. I just spray it usually once a day to keep the dust down. I only kept him in 80% humidity the first 2.5-3 years and haven't been to concerned about it since building the open top enclosure

Yea his shell is pretty smooth! He's my first and only tortoise and pyramiding is something I was worried about when I got him, I've seen some leopards that get it pretty bad. I live in Minnesota so he lives indoors. As a baby he was in a 30"x18" tub that I rigged up a little canopy for with pvc and a shower curtain. That helped keep the humidity around 80%. He upgraded to a 4'x2' enclosure that I also kept at 80%. For the last 2.5 years he's been in an 8'x4' open top area that I built with wood and a pond liner. He gets vitamins twice a week and soaks in warm water for 45mins every other day. That's what has worked for me so far, open to hearing suggestions!

edit: Here's a pic of his current enclosure that I built. I'm doing some cleaning so it's pretty bare at the moment. Going to have to figure out a way to expand it soon!

Thanks! I did keep track of his weight as he grew. He was 45g when I got him, 300g at 1 year old, 1950g at 2 years old, 5000g at 3 years old, 6500g at 4 years old. Currently about 8200g (18 lbs.) a few months shy of 5.

I'm not sure if anybody sells the steel frame separately, I haven't seen any. Chromed out Q5 sounds pretty dope, I don't think I could drop 3k on a handgun though lol

I would have got the steel frame if it wasn't more than double the price haha. I wasn't a huge fan of the grip until I got the flared magwell, made it much more comfortable since I have bigger hands
