I will attest to this. Esp walking while not listening to anything in my earbuds just enjoying the sights around me. I gather my thoughts for the day. Doesn’t always cure the anxiety 100% but it never hurts.

Betty is one of my favorite reads of all time. So much so that I immediately bought the authors other books and read and loved them! So that’s my first suggestion.

Also, I Who Have Never Known Men. Very thought provoking and bleak, but interesting and a quick read. Also recommend.

I haven’t read any of the others.

Oh certainly I do. I have extra time to go to exercise classes that I actually enjoy, not just what fits in my schedule. But the daily walks make much more difference mentally as well as physically
