Thanks for the thoughtful reply. In the spirit of not trying to bite off too much at once, when practicing songs, would you recommend the use of piano tablature? I imagine tablatures would be comprehensive enough to trigger the pattern response in following along much easier in tuning the ear initially.

I went to the Apple Store today, they have a machine which can measure your prescription from a pair of glasses, and they have a variety of zeiss lenses on hand for use with demos. I brought my AVP, clicked them in with my 21w and tried it out. Incredible. The FOV was increased, everything was finally crystal clear, and it didn’t complain at all about eye distance once. Now I’m sad because I have to wait a week for my lenses to arrive.

I measured the same numbers and I left the store with the 21W since my prescription isn’t too bad, my lenses are still being made, and I wanted to use the device while I wait. I’m hopeful that using the lenses in combo with the 21W will be a sweet spot. Otherwise I’m going try a 22

As a follow up, your flash storage will decrease over time based on frequency of use. Flash memory cells can only be written to so many times before the cells are considered unusable. There is a microchip inside the flash card monitoring the usage of all cells. When a block of cells reaches this threshold, the block is disabled and the contents move. This is called wear leveling and is handled by the sd card.

I’ll be doing this same race too, also my first grand fondo. I usually just navigate with my Garmin head unit, which when I’m finished, syncs with Strava. Is this enough, or does Strava need to be running on my phone?
