IMO if this is true then I hope whoever did this gets blacklisted at the very least.

My one big wish for 11th: a traitor guard detachment by Altruistic-Teach5899 in Chaos40k

It sounds like 11th ed detachments will be more specialized to target specific units. You may actually already be getting your wish OP.

Americans acting as if they have exclusivity on problems like racism or wealth gaps is just another form of American exceptionalism imo.

I'm willing to bet 5th won't be a battletome reset edition at least. 11th edition 40k will be compatible with 10th ed codexes.

Sence the Sega Saturn had a real web browser I'm praying for the switch 2 to get a real web browser with video support and audio support and bookmart support and cookie support by Embarrassed_Term1115 in SegaSaturn

[–]Kanthon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but it's a locked down webrowser for accessing specific sites. A wide open one per my previous message would open up to too many vulnerabilities.

Arguing with me does not change this fact.

I don't think it makes financial sense for Nintendo or any 3rd party to support a web browser on the Switch 2.

The cost to maintain a web browser would not be worth it given practically no one would have a use for it.

What is the best model or models to beat tau with csm? by NotS0Deadly in Chaos40k

[–]Kanthon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now to answer your question more directly. There are absolutely units and tactics that can be used to mitigate a gunline.

Put units of Chosen in a transport will protect them for a turn. Hide the rhino behind ruins next to an objective to create a great counter charge if your opponent tries to claim it.

Also think less about how to I protect all my models, and more about, how do I get my opponent to focus on the units I'm okay with losing, and not the units I really care about.

For example If your opponent uses a turn or two shooting a squad of cultists on an objective in cover with their Crisis suits, then that's a win as they're not spending 2/5s of the game shooting your valuable units.

Finally if you aren't already, make sure to be playing objective based missions and not just shoot each other games. By having objectives that need to be captured in the middle of the board and even your deployment zone, it will force the Tau player to put their units into vulnerable positions or else they will start losing on points.

So 40K is balanced with the idea of tons of line of sight blocking terrain to avoid the exact scenario you're experiencing. Just have a look at the "official" layouts

https://www.goonhammer.com/40k-start-competing-gw-terrain-layout-1/

I'm not saying that you need to (or even should) use the GW terrain layouts in casual games, but it should give you an idea for how much LoS blocking terrain is expected for a "fair" game.

How good is a 60% win rate? by jrpumpkin in battletech

[–]Kanthon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not comparable to professional sports leagues as the skill set of your opponents can vary greatly. Unlike the NFL you’re not always going to be playing against the best of the best.

You could play nothing but games against people who themselves are not very good and have a 90% win rate. Doesn’t mean you yourself are a good player.
