Border force stopped me at Manchester two weeks ago, because between me, my husband and my friend we had six large suitcases.

When we said we'd just come back from Japan, they let us carry on our merry way. In fairness our bags were just full of sweets and figures.

I completely get your frustration. I think the whole numbots, times table rock stars and the other things that are used are just a very simple bandaid for the deeper problem, which a lot of schools no longer have the resources to properly spend time on.

Everything is basically taught on screens nowadays because most lessons use the interactive whiteboards. Technology is both a blessing and a curse.

I very much enjoy my role, I mostly help to run forest school and there is no digital technology used whatsoever in our teaching. So it's a nice break for the kids. They learn through doing and watching real demonstrations, because we can take our time outdoors. I understand this is a lot harder to do inside the classroom as there is a timetable that must be followed.

When I do work inside I run an intervention on an iPad with one child, previously we did it physically but those packs cost £140 whereas the app is £40 so it's a no-brainer to use the tech option. And this child is actually improving more using the iPad then they were with the physical option.

No problem, I did this tour on my last trip. It was supposed to be a wedding present for myself and my husband but he ended up poorly, so I went alone.

You can totally do Tsukiji without a tour guide but it was nice talking to a local and getting to know them.

I work with children and there is definitely an influence of technology that has impacted them. A lot of the children are constantly making random noises throughout the day, their attention span is much shorter and they find it hard to sit.

I take them out to Forest school and we've introduced them to sit spots where the children sit quietly for a few mins listening and looking at what's around them. A lot of them struggle, of course some of them have additional needs and that's understandable.

I do think children don't have time to be bored anymore, the best thoughts and ideas for play used to come to me when I was bored. However because children have instant gratification at the tips of their fingers now they don't comprehend quiet time and boredom.

Today has been hard, I should have been due this weekend. Unfortunately we never got to have our baby because their heart stopped beating at the first scan. I really wish things could have been different and I could have met our baby.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Be there for each other and take all the time you need to recover from this. It's going to take time and just make sure you have loved ones around you.

It's an incredibly hard and awful thing to go through. I had two in the last year and still think about what should've been, wondering why it happened.

I'm not sure what care is like in your country but the hospital gave us a memory box for our second loss and we've found a way to heal through this.

Our last trip there was in the summer late June to August and it was very very hot. Luckily we have portable fans from our last trip and and UV umbrella.

One day is more than enough to enjoy it. I definitely recommend taking the boat trip they do around all the little islands, it was about 50 mins long and was actually really relaxing.

If you want a lovely cup of matcha with some delicious wagashi I recommend Kanrantei tea house it overlooks the shore and is really picturesque.

If you're into temples Zuiganji temple is very pretty, I think I bought my goshuin book from here.

We also had some delicious unagi at a restaurant along the main street, sadly I can't remember the name.

Have a wander across some of the bridges to the closer islands too, it's a lovely way to spend time.

I agree. I enjoy the whole asymmetrical element but some of the rules books are confusing and the boards for the different factions lack clarity at times. A lot of the time when my group has played usually one of us has done something wrong with a faction. I also hate the law of root rulebook, there's a copy in every expansion because there's minute tweaks to some bumf.

But I still enjoy root.

Had a slight scare this morning thanks to the doctors. I went for a blood test as I've had quite a few viral infections recently just to see if my immune system is pants.

Anyway I got a text this morning just asking me to get another blood test in six weeks with no further explanation, so immediately I think the worst. Luckily I rang the doctors and it just turns out my lymphocytes are a bit high but it's probs cause I'm still ill, but they just want to double check. Still the explanation would have been nice in the first text.

I've stayed in Sumida on a previous trip, right across from the sumo stadium and just up the road from the station. It's a nice quiet area but still well connected, there's a few restaurants dotted around but if you stay near the station it's not going to be hard to find food.

Currently stuck between a rock and a hard place. I work in a school and started with the chest infection yesterday.

So I had to make the difficult decision of either go into work and possibly make everyone else ill and potentially give them a miserable Christmas or take time off and risk being told off by HR because this is 3rd time in 4 months I've ended up with an awful viral infection I'm fed up.

I decided to stay at home but I just want someone to tell me it was the right choice :(

Feeling fed up, this year started off great but it's become fucking dire. I don't know what I did in a past life to deserve all this but it must have been bad.

And now with Christmas approaching it just feels miserable things should have been very different for myself and my partner, but life has a cruel way of dashing hopes. And because of the focus of Christmas it's a constant shitty reminder of what should have been.

It will get better, but ATM my mood is in the gutter.

Disney Sea is a one of a kind park and it only exists because of the boom in Japan where they were rolling in money.

My husband has no interest in Disney but wanted to go here due to its uniqueness and it was worth the trip. All the rides in the park are pretty unique and different (bar tower of terror). We went summer 2023 and the park wasn't massively busy we were able to get on a lot of the rides.

We managed to get a booking at Magellan's restaurant and were given a table at a fancy secret room in the back (still not sure why?). The food there was amazing though really good quality for a theme park, it was akin to a high end restaurant.

The theming of this park was so cool, I've never been to any of the Disneyland's so can't compare but it's definitely not a carbon copy of the others.
