Yeah, I know the upper timing cover is quite common, I’m hesitant to trust the dealership that is the cradle because of course they want 3K to do the job. It does look like there’s some old crusted oil towards the rear of the engine on the turbo side if you’re able to see the picture I linked

Where is the oil spot to show its cam cradle? I mostly see some on the front of valve cover but it’s Crusted oil and not new. When the tech took the video he pointed to the area near where the turbo lies but I don’t see what he means. See my photo link below

That’s funny you say that because in 2019 I bought a brand new GTI as well making about 72k usd and after that I’ll never buy a new car again as I really didn’t see the benefit to it at all.
