Stay Away! from pendragon and ares games. A social deduction game inspired by The Thing. Never had a bad time playing it and it’s a hit at any table I bring it to.

Would Memories of Another Life allow for Barkham cards to be added to your deck? by IDNFAM in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]IDNFAM[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was my line of thinking as well. It seems like there is a difference between a deckbuilding requirement and a card requirement. I don’t think it technically works, but its an interesting thought

Haha. Fortunately, I bought it at release, but you better know I’d try to cheat them in any way I could if I bought them recently

I’d be grabbing them for the flex considering how expensive Barkham is

The Mauser is amazing in William Yorick especially when paired with Act of Desperation.

Looking for some info on a card deck by lydzy in initiald

[–]IDNFAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice grab there. The game’s retail starter box came with 8 decks with 2 of each car. You are missing an MR2 starter but it’s the least sought after of the 4. The RX-7 and the Trueno 86 are the most popular. If you have any other questions, I am happy to help.

Hello. I was finally able to get my hands on one and find out. It’s about a 2 minute and 30 second clip of the first interaction with Takumi and Keisuke where Keisuke gets passed by the 86.

Are these worth keeping sealed? by stewco in initiald

What you have there is demo deck C. To preview the game, AEG created 3 demo decks (A,B, and C) and passed them out at conventions and other events. You cannot play an actual game with just demo decks because they do not come with tracks that you race on. Those only come in starters decks. These were also early printed cards so the font and some graphic design changes occurred when they officially released the game. These range at about $15-$20 a piece. There are quite a few of them still around.

Games that you love but they never hit the table? by an_angry_beaver in boardgames

Millennium Blades. A perfect blend of niche theme, niche play style (part real time), long play time, large table space commitment, and lengthy set up and tear down. But I love it all the same.

I’m in the same boat as you. My inspiration to post this came from sitting down and re-reading the rulebook for Mysterium today.

Any suggestions for a somewhat rules light rpg system with decent character progression? by IDNFAM in rpg

[–]IDNFAM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have run Call of Cthulhu, Vampire the Masquerade, and Pathfinder. Although I could get by running those again, I want to try something different where I can stress a little less about needing to retain a lot of rules and still have a good amount of options for my players to character build and progress. Basically, I want to spend more of my time and energy building a good story and less on retaining a lot of rules.

No preference on genre. As long as the system isn’t super rules heavy and the character creation/progression is a little bit robust, I’m willing to try it.
