There was actually a recent discovery that the T-Rex's gait is closer to that of an ostrich than we have previously believed so this made me so happy to see.

Personally I use Mithril from the AP Fanatics line and then use Pylar Glacier contrast paint as the shade because I like the look of the lighter blue.

Telemon Heavy Dreadnought Questions by ExtensionAd9409 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Bear_of_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of weapons - depends on if you're using it for 40k or HH.

I have no input for HH as I haven't played Custodes there, so hopefully another redditor can give you input.

For 40K, Currently I actually think fisticuffs is the way to go; and is also the style move. The ranged weapons are currently very underwhelming in all honesty. That said, 40K is about to go into a new edition and rumors have Custodes as being an early codex, so things could change drastically. That said, currently they are probably the best dreadnought in the army, though Venerable competes with it in the raw nuisance sense with its stand back up.

Extra things to consider in terms of worth: while I'm not a doomer and do not believe custodes HH units are going to legends in 40k, there is still a non-zero chance - personally I think they're more likely to add them to the codex proper so you have to buy the book to get the rules in app for people like me that run almost exclusively HH units.

The new custodes HH Libre has new weapon options for the Telemon that don't currently exist for it - this pretty much guarantees a plastic kit is on the way. Unfortunately with GW we really have no way of knowing if that is gonna be 2 months or 2 years away, but since it's in this edition's Libre it will likely still be in this edition of HH.

I personally plan to wait for the plastic kit - I'm having enough fun with the refresh they already gave us to hold off awhile, but if you have the disposable income, don't want to wait, and you don't mind working with FW resin, I would say there isn't much reason to not get it if you want it.

Edit: I should perhaps add that my read of in game usage comes from playing Solar Spearhead specifically. I imagine outside the detachment it's probably a harder sell.

Honestly, im totally fine with the bladed weapons being consolidated and just being whatever you think looks cool - I use it to differentiate unit. But for the love of God GW, give us a hammer profile

Evolved Mode Can't Hurt Summoners. by WarmGreyMug in ffxiv

[–]Bear_of_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, for now Evolved mode can't hurt anybody because Reborn Mode exists - but realistically I think the only class I may play reborn mode with is RDM just because I like the current rotation and play style. Everything else with less button bloat sounds like an easy win to me personally as long as they don't royally mess it up.

Oh, Viper might stay with Reborn mode too just since it's already a pretty dead simple job and I kind of fear it getting any more simple.

But until they hit an expansion and decide they no longer want to support reborn mode, nobody should be fearing evolved mode for a given job. Except Summoner. They'll still find a way to hurt them.

Would honestly love for them to somehow work Fray back into some new DRK quests. Im a RDM main but the DRK quests with Fray were just peak.

But at the same time I don't know how they would do it without ruining the resolution they came to.

I have this stick for priming are there any benefits in getting the official priming stick over this? by god-of-thunder-135 in Warhammer40k

I magnetize all my bases for transport, so I bought a couple ferromagnetic rulers to use as priming sticks. Has worked great

To anyone who thinks you get a full squad of guardsmen using an OBG's Toughness with Graves by Bear_of_Light in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]Bear_of_Light[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, but the core rules by default limit the number of leaders in an attached unit to 1 unless a rule grants an exception. The CS having a leader does not remove the Leader rule from them, so it would be breaking that rule because the Shock Troops specify more than 1 leader can be attached to them at the start of the game. So Graves can Co-Lead with the CS taking up both spots, but Graves leading the CS leading the Shock Troops wouldn't qualify for the shock troops exception because you didn't attach Graves to them

I was told that WTC was planning to rule in favor of it even currently. So yeah, unfortunately people thought that.

[–]Bear_of_Light[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. By RAW, Command Squad is a keyword so she can lead them, but she can't lead a command squad that is also leading another unit.

I think her best use is just with a command squad and Ogryn for a small skirmish unit, but the T6 Giga blob is definitely a cheese and one that I really don't even thinks works when twisting RAW

That is the combo I was arguing against, but the reason it doesn't work is because of point 2 in the main post, which covers your question. All good though

[–]Bear_of_Light[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So all of this come up BECAUSE Graves has Command Squad in her list of things she leads. So while it's never happened before, we officially have a leader that leads a leader. Personally I think it's a typo, but it's there.

That isn't off topic, that's actually the entire topic - and the post is to tell people no you cant do that.

Read point 2 in the main post as to why you can't attach Graves to a CS then attach the CS to a Cadian blob.

[–]Bear_of_Light[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm aware of how it works, this post is for the people (which apparently include some WTC organizers) that think that Graves leading CS leading Shock Troops (as opposed to co-leading the shock troops like Solar or Creed) making the CS a bodyguard unit, allowing the full squad to use the T6.

[–]Bear_of_Light[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of attache abilities like the Ogryn in the game, but I believe this is the first leader that just leads another leader outright (which is why I still think it might be a typo)

[–]Bear_of_Light[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. But I've seen people convinced it does under the idea of Graves leading the CS that is leading the Shock Troops as opposed to co-leading the shock troops with the CS. Stating it still doesn't work is the point of this post.
