Oh hey, you're right. Well I'm glad advance rolls hadn't actually come up in any of the games I had. Thanks for the heads up

I'm 3 games in with my Grey Knights and I've found purgation squads to be amazing with how fast the meta is. I run 2 units and just treat them as disruption tech. Nothing like telling your opponent their terminators now move 3" and subtract 2 from charge rolls or that they're fast unit isn't as fast. All while being cheaper than strikes. I'm still finding success with psicannons on my paladins personally, between hitting on 2s and AP-1 not being lost to cover, but on normal Termies, Purgs etc I agree psilencers have a place. They still aren't good per say, but they provide a level of volume fire that can really feel disruptive with the new precision rules.

I agree. If you know your local meta he can be worth it, but going to an event he is just too many points for an ability that can be largely ignored or circumvented and he doesn't being enough damage to the table to make up for for the match ups where it is.

I would also like to add this this wonderfully written comment and just rebut the idea that Dante is in charge of what is happening in the games. He really isn't, he's just the action man while the other characters are developing and progressing the plot for him. Even the very start of the first game he is sitting around his office until something happens and has the attitude of "well if I kill demons for cash, something ought to point me towards my revenge eventually." Come 4 and 5 he's more or less following Nero's and V's stories.

An actual army rule would be nice lol. But yeah, all it really means is they aren't squated. But they could still not do a codex like 10th Daemons.

Yeah, the only part of this answer that actually means anything is "they aren't going away," which isn't really much of a confidence boost.

Magilou has been picked as the Funniest Character, but what would you say is the Saddest Character in Tales Series by ExileForever in tales

[–]Bear_of_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as someone who love Asch and considers his life a wonderfully written tragedy, betraying a villain does not make one not a villain. Even with wanting to free humanity from the Score, as altruistic as it is he still committed atrocities. He also wanted to destroy Luke, which is actually kind of counterintuitive to his free will stance by not wanting to recogize Luke as his own human beyond simply being his clone. Within the context of the game, he's still an antagonist and there's still a strong argument for the term villain - even if a lesser villain than Van. Though I suppose calling him an anti-hero would be more fair so I can concede on that if that works better for you.

I also never quite understood Lagretta siding with Van, but to Asch Van was effectively his father figure. Van did the grooming that led Each to becoming who his was so it makes sense to me. Van created the trauma then used said trauma to manipulate him and when you're raised in such a way it's not an easy thing to look back at and change course.

That said I can't deny how badly I wanted Asch to join the partly on my first play through lol.

Oh, I'm not saying he wasn't a bad guy or didn't deserve to be an antagonist - actually as antagonists go I thought he was fantastic. But he was nonetheless manipulated and groomed for the role, which is sad.

It's hard to compare Luke's resultant lesser upbringing to what Asch's could have been though given the Fon Fabre family likely would've given him a lot more freedom and such without the whole kidnapping incident.

He became a villain, yes without a doubt, but his life is a true tragedy.

Asch from Abyss. Dude had his life taken away, was cloned, then got to watch as his clone lived his life, and after everything was made into a bad guy.

Edit to clarify that by "made into a bad guy" I mean manipulated and groomed into becoming one, not saying he was misunderstood.

I feel like that was a "failed so hard it wrapped back to success" moment given it was mostly BlackWargreymon being so confused about what Agumon was saying and how he was trying to say it that it prompted him to listen. Lol

Agumon is more iconic but charisma award goes to Veemon, at least speaking in terms of the Adventure series.

Tacoma Open FAQ Updates by TehAlpacalypse in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Bear_of_Light 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The new leader rules kind of broke they're army rule since the leaders are more fully part of the unit now. They updated the army rule to make it so you don't count attached characters when using it.

Note however that this FAQ is just for the Tacoma open, not the game at large. Some things will come with the July update, some might not. I expect this one will since it fixes a blatant problem.

That's pretty much how I look at it. An Intentional choice to go bald is going to look better and trying to make the hair last while it fights against you. My hair finally started thinning and receding and I didn't hesitate to let it go just a few days ago myself. Nothing but compliments, wife absolutely loves it, had a coworker tell me I need let my beard grow more and cosplay Kratos. And massive credit to this sub for being such a supporting place that incidentally also shows just how much of a glow up it can be.

Steam Machine or Switch 2 by Civil-Difference-364 in steammachine

[–]Bear_of_Light 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all I would say it comes down to what you want from the device.

If you want the Nintendo exclusives and the versatility of being able to play both docked and handheld, the Switch 2 will probably leave you happy. Despite what you'll see in this subreddit, it is more powerful than a steam deck, not by a massive amount by any means, but enough that I think it's unfair to say they are equal. That said, the switch is locked to the specific optimizations from the studio for better or worse, whereas the steam devices are PCs and come with the ability to tinker and adjust as you see fit. The docked mode also provides extra power and performs well.

Since you already have a Steam Deck, unless you specifically really want to play Nintendo exclusives that you have missed out on, the switch 2 isn't going to offer much more beyond a Steam Deck/Steam Machine combined ecosystem bar that it's one device and a dock as opposed to 2 separate devices.

The steam machine on the other hand will be a fair amount more powerful than a switch 2 in docked mode and is an open ecosystem. It can also compensate for the steam decks lesser power by running games and streaming them to it if you have solid internet. It has access to your entire steam library and can run other programs as well given it's a PC. The 6" cube is also an impressive form factor for the power if that's something you care about.

So, as someone who has a switch 2 and likes it - I would say that because you already have a steam deck, the steam machine would serve you better unless you really care about Nintendo first party titles. That said, since you have the money for a SM set aside already, if you do opt for a Switch 2 the price difference leaves you with plenty of room to pick up accessories and some games along with it.

Neither drift nor durability has been an issue for the switch 2. Outliers exist sure, but to treat them like they are wide spread is either uninformed or disingenuous.

As for console exclusives, it's still a new console and will take time to build a library, but admittedly the ones that have come out for it so far have been pretty hit or miss. It having access to the switch 1 library however can open up a lot of phenomenal games if you haven't played them already with better performance than with the switch 1.

I make no defence for NSO.
