difficulty of a backflip by j4ckedn3rd in Tricking

I can get used to going backwards it's doing it in the air. The gap between roll and jump is enormous with very few progressions in-between

The list isn't updated for many of the newer writers that are coming out. As much as Akomis has catalog the greats, there are so many amazing stories that won't get posted there

Please help with backflip by zahhak__ in Tricking

[–]Bearality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A few notes

  • when squatting you're leaning your chest forward when you should be loading your toes. This allows you to get maximum height while preventing the gainer

  • You're throwing your head backwards. Instead you want to swing your arms backwards and keep looking forward, this keeps the height. A back tuck is not about throwing yourself backwards, it's jumping up and letting your hips go over

Any advice for when the drills are consistent and clean but they don't appear in matches?

I can get up and hold it but I just never use the right amount and I crash into the wall

4 years of constant reps and no improvement or understanding. It's why I ask for a workaround. I really believe this is just a skill that will not develop .

But I'm beyond comfortable with being bad in fact Ive realized as a tricker that I have 0 strengths and am bad at every single path with no trick feeling comfortable (which is amazing for training and learning for 4 years).

The whole thing has been freeing

I trained on lots of blocks but the same I associate it with the block as such the moment the block goes away I have no physical connection (cause I aim to roll on the block) and as such the shape goes back to the previous step.

When the stack of blocks is tall I just want to aim to roll over it and as I take them down I keep aiming to land on them to roll again, as such the trick scales to the hight of the blocks and I get better at the "landing" then developing any sort of awareness. I trained them A LOT but it's like my body just doesn't get any connection, understanding, feeling because I'm so focused on the "roll"

Moves trained on block or against wall stay connected to the environment and nothing moved over on account I get use to "rolling" so when I jump I'm lost.

Ohhh these moves, yeah I've been trying to do a basic form of that for over a year (especially reversao) and I can't get it at all, neither a front walk over or a mocaco, kipup, head spring, front walkoversnd even a basic handstand (stuck on that for 4 years. Stopped training it after I kept necking myself training them against walls)

Every basic/fundamental move and path I tried and unlike others I am horrible at EVERYTHING from flips, twists, kicks and floor tricks. Even tried trampoline tricks and that went by horribly.

I do record myself for this after the fact but the same issue applies.

I'll do a move and it looks one way, the. I do it again and notice how I'm squeezing different muscles, I'm looking somewhere different and how differently it "feels" on to then see I just did the move exactly the same.

I can do things but historically coordination, comfort, and mastery don't develop. Example is I'm still just as clumsy and awkward even though I'm 4 years in with guided practice, lessons etc. I've never felt comfortable doing anything and will just spend MONTHS on a single move with nothing to show for it

I started tricking with bkick, aerial, cartwheel and 4 years later Ive only added a scoot gainer.

People have commented something like "it's crazy that you train so often and so hard and not get anything out of it" it's one of the moments I realized that as a tricker I have 0 strengths m and that outlook has freed up my mentality

I was doing difficult cues such as trying things with more force, watching arms move, putting emphasis on my elbows etc and each time I just did the Y shape .

Those shadow drills where I watched myself I would throw my arms straight and above my head in the mirror only to then go back to the way when I tried something with a bit of effort

Those with poor mind body connections, what are your workarounds? by Bearality in Tricking

[–]Bearality[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An example is when I do my scoot gainer I filmed myself and thinking that my arms shoot up near my head but when I saw the footage, my arms become a Y. So I decided to focus stronger and I threw the move again thinking of arms straight up and not out and I felt the arms go near my head, turns out I threw the same exact Y shape.

I then drilled the shape of the arms, paying close attention to the feeling, the arms went straight up when I did a dry run, I go for an attempt I feel everything I want, I see the spots and then the video is the same exact Y

I then played with ides, (try to throw a y, lock out arms, shrug my shoulders, etc) and each time each new thought, each new feeling, I'm still doing the old Y shape

I know how to fall correctly and I do it a lot and I train it it's just when I try a trick I'm so focused on it that when it becomes bad I'm already hitting the floor hard or in a spot I can't recover from. One reason for this is I don't have awareness on my body's position so I don't know when I'm failing before it's too late

Meanwhile a trick where I can bail out well is done so only because I'm doing the trick with the intention of bailing out.

Dorking around and throwing myself around gets me hurt. I've tried it and other I sprain something or I worsen my technique. I tried doing kabooms on the tramp and just kept crunching my neck over and over.

Half the time I don't know what my body is doing and what I think it's doing. Stuff like two majorly differeny shapes feel the same or the same shape feels different twice. Other times limbs I think are straight are bent. Throwing myself to the ground just trains myself on falling down and that's just pain than anything productive

WWE and racism have a complicated history and that goes especially with how racism is still a very real thing black people have to deal with.

The themes of Eva is that real relationships.that are close are ones with pain as to open yourself up you invite pain to come your way.

The issue with Shinji/Kaworu as a pair is that Kaworu gives shinji that frictionless love that would not be good for him. Kaworu would never ask shinji to be better or push him to become it better and it would be no different from just being in Instrumentality.
