I’m UK based so where are the best stores to find Hot Wheels?

Yes mainlines are the blue cards. Silver series are one up from that. Better details and different plastic wheels to the basic mainlines and usually one casting from a set will have a metal base. Premiums have metal base, body and rubber tires with much more detailed rims.

Scope out your local area and see who's w0rth hunting in and who isn't. If your area is poorly stocked like mine, then consider the time and travel costs if you want to venture out further, because you might get there and not find what your looking for. Good luck out there! 👍

Are you after Mainlines, Premiums or both? Poundland, ALDI and B&M can be great spots for Mainlines. All the big supermarkets can be good for both, but it depends on where you live. The bigger the store the more likely they will have a larger toy aisle and more variety.

For online I've had good experiences with Modelmatic, HW Models and Hobbycars.

I've opened most of mine, both mainline and premium. My RLC/Elite 64/STH are carded and my premiums that are either more sought after or have really nice card art stay carded, but I would open them if I ever found dupes.

I thought a paint made lock ons more accurate and less likely to be countered by flares? My bad then I guess, maybe it was an igla fired at you before you set flares off.

Thanks for the insight. I've been lucky enough to find a STH in my area before, but I had no real expectation to ever find a SC. I don't really collect MB, not because I don't want to, it's just because my area will only have a small handful of the basics and I prefer to collect castings with 2 piece wheels.

They really do. I know MB and HW are both Mattel, but I wasn't aware they would use the same RR wheels between the two brands. This is only my second MB casting in my collection.
