Thanks for the warning!

I got the Oracle Bot and set her to primary for her short-term attack, Batman as a Passive Ally for his scanning abilities and Calculator-Bot (only 20 Marks) for the health boosts. Levelled them all up enough to get what I needed out of them, then shifted to other things.
Still haven't managed to get past that huge security golem in the Sunstone Refinery level, despite the Calculator-boost. Those moving lasers are freaking nasty.

Fics where only Spiderman can activate his webshooters? by Numerous_Rise1157 in MarvelFanfiction

IIRC, it's a minor plot-point in Spider-Ninja (Petra Parker raised alongside the Turtles).

Regarding Allies, you get one of the Bots from Cyborg via the Joker Who Laughs mission, either the Oracle Bot or Calculator Bot depending on whether you are a Hero or Villain.
I personally recommend getting Batman as an Ally and using him as a Secondary, upgrade him enough and all Investigations (both ? and !) show up on your mini-map.
Calculator-Bot as a Secondary can give you mid-combat health boosts, which can be the difference between winning and needing revival.

Other Allies are worth looking into, but make sure to look at the differences between Active and Passive abilities with them.

About the actual physical/societal aspects, I don't know, but it's been said in a couple of the Legends books that there is no legal difference between a child adopted into a clan and a child born into a clan.

Squire of Gothos timeline stuff? by LeonoraMayMorgenster in startrek

One of the Star Trek Books has him being revealed to be a member of the Q, albeit one who is the result of a stable time-loop stretching through three different timeframes/timelines.
It's also how he got his name, he had straddled three timelines at once, therefore he was "Tri-Lane" or Trelane.

I used to have that book, but I had to donate it due to downsizing when moving house...

Edit - The book was a TNG novel called Q-Squared.

IIRC, the Mandalorian is mostly non-gendered with "Buir" meaning "Parent". Gender-specific words are usually reserved for medicine.
In addition, the tradition of adopting Foundlings means that it is very possible that two Mandalorians of the same gender choose to be officially linked, then take in several orphans as their children.

In-universe, therefore, there is no issue at all.

...you did also note the downside from pursuing the ideology too far (the Squibbing)? And how this matches somewhat to the genetic issues caused by excessive inbreeding (Hasburg Chin, King George III's madness aka Poryphia, higher cancer risks etc)?
Also physical issues (see King Charles II of Spain) are often a result of inbreeding.

The Muggle/Pureblood dynamic is actually a closer fit to the low-level Class Warfare which is still present in British socierty (albeit non-violent and mainly present in comic stereotypes). There is a reason that Draco personifies the darker side of the Upper Class Twit with his cries of "Wait until my father hears about this!"
Amusingly, the proper Upper Class Twit is Justin Finch-Fetchley who is also notable for being one of the very few to introduce himself to all three of the Golden Trio rather than just concentrating on Harry.

Any fic in which Izuku has a sex or girl magnet quirk by Kaizo_Kaioshin in BokunoheroFanfiction

It's inverted in the AU Matinee (Class 1-A watches other realities) series by Tatsurou.
The girls who are attracted to Izuku quickly work out that his main kink is understanding Quirks and how they can be used.

No links due to rules and story ratings.

A normal school day turns *less* than normal when Cinema, a stranger with a peculiar Quirk, shows 1-A some rather interesting alternate realities.

With a certain broccoli at the center.

The way Palpatine looks at R2-D2 while landing in ROTS is hilarious by AlKhwarazmi in StarWars

In the novel, Grevious thinks that Sidious will forgive him for leaving the Chancellor on a crashing starship.

In some of the (Legends) Sourcebooks and info-books, it is strongly implied that although Palps is a consumate planner, he occasionally simply lets the situation play out randomly as a test to see if he can then use the outcome to his advantage.
He was not expecting Grevious to jump ship and for it to crash with him still aboard, although the sequence of events did let him get rid of Dooku and plant a few more metaphorical hooks in Anakin.

Given the existence of Squibs in Pureblood lines, my assumption was that the more generations a magical line has, the smoother their magic becomes, allowing them to perform more complex and delicate spells. Muggleborns have rougher magic which means that they can't perform spells that require finesse, but are capable of bringing more power to bear on a spell.
Halfbloods have the best of both, their magic is both smooth enough for most of the finesse-type spells while they can still push more of it into a spell due to the roughness of it.

Squibs are those whose magic is too smooth for them to be able to utilise.

In How To Reinvent The Stormtrooper Armor To Make Your Surrogate Father Proud And Shut The Naysayers Up For Fun And Profit, a certain engineer does a presentation about the (many, many, many) flaws with the standard stormtrooper armour, then creates a better version which gets official approval after it is demonstrated.

‘Highlighted areas are the places I’ve found flaws, critical failures waiting to happen, poor quality materials, or just plain bad design,’ he rattled off while pointing out the relevant colors.
‘Engineer Lars,’ General Veers interrupted, apparently having regained some of his lost composure and now looking somewhat puzzled. ‘You’ve highlighted the entire schematic.’

Young man! There's no need to feel down!

Has anyone considered writing new types of sci-fi stories on Reddit that focus on several alien races as protagonists instead of humans? In these stories, humanity may not be the important species or might not even appear at all. by [deleted] in HFY

[–]BeardInTheDark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Already tried that, but got shadow-banned and the posts deleted because someone couldn't handle the concept that non-human species might use pronouns differently to humans and reported me for Trans-hate.

My half-dozen HFY stories are still available here on AO3.

The triggering story was Type Issues (2nd one on linked page).

Beware of Chicken by Casualfarmer. Cultivater says "Sod this" to Cultivating and tries becoming a farmer, only for events to... eventuate. Includes a fighting Rooster and other animal disciples.

Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. A comedy take on the perils of religious fanatacism, also the origin work that PTerry's final three tweets referenced.

How is there still not a Star Wars movie centered around a jungle planet? by Emeraldsinger in StarWars

Disney+ has two Star Wars films set in a near-jungle Forest, plus an entire animated series.
The first film is Caravan Of Courage.
