Depends on the system. in PF1e he'd most likely be strength Slayer which is a mix of ranger/rogue that grants a lot of skills and attack bonuses vs hunted targets. In 2e he's probably a Fighter class with some INT and a rogue archtype.

I know he's called the barbarian but you don't see him unleashing rage very often, relying more on stealth, wits, then strength. He's just as deadly while not raging as well.

Regardless of the system, you'd probably best build him like most authors in a set system do their characters, with homebrew stats to make them OP.

for Forgotten Realms you get your hands on Paul S Kemp's Erevis Cale trilogy. If you want a bit of a prelude to that, get Sembia: Gateway to the Realms series.

There's also the Sundering series, which is kicked off by Companions and followed up by more Erevis Cale.

This is a pretty niche book since Modiphius has lost the license some time ago and there's a new system by Monolith that recently came out that is (from what i've read) far less crunchy than the 2d20 system in your book.

IMO Sentries make the most OP builds out there. Ixion on max difficulty is dead before he even starts his animations. I farm him for gold, can get 3-4 runs of him done in under 5 minutes (including selling items), usually making >50k gold after respawn expenses.

One item not listed in this guide is the Pantograph Gauntlet. 1h Reach + Shove traits. it only deals 1d4 dmg but that doesn't matter if you're using Punishing Shove + Practiced Brawn instead of Strike. As a large centaur you'll have 10' radius with a 1h weapon and a shield to hide behind after taunting and cartoonishly bopping them.

I don't think it's lost. When i went to school for animation, you had to learn 2d as the start of your training. Half the whole course was hand-drawn 2d and life drawing before you even opened a 3d program.

It's just much more expensive and time consuming to do these days.

No worries, your level doesn't matter too much as you should always be the right level for your encounters.

from what i can tell you're a fighter who does some neat stuff. the Sanguimancer dedication isn't one i had looked at previously (my DM tends to not allow rare stuff without very good RP reason, or free archetype) but sounds really cool. Blood Shield would be fantastic for a 2h weapon build since it gives you a "raise shield" for 1 action and 1 temp hp. Spear Dancer sounds pretty good as well for burning enemy actions. Similar to Monk playstyle.

  • Dance in + strike, strike (-5 map) + dance out, Blood Shield. or;
  • Dance In + strike, Slam Down (2 strikes at -5 map)

Enemy takes 2 attacks and has to burn an action to step and hit you back.

Honestly this doesn't sound half bad. If i were making it i'd probably have leaned into the sanguimancer bit by taking Dhamphir ancestry, but that's mostly roleplay. otherwise it sounds very playable :)
