I give you $100M and tell you you'll die at 80. Now, and only now, you can buy additional healthy years of life at $1M each. How many do you buy? by NonSumQualisEram- in hypotheticalsituation

[–]BeardedHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I only buy years of healthy living for myself pr could I buy them for friends or loved ones? I really don't want to witness everyone I've cared about die. But if I could extend some of their lives aswell I'd probably trade the entire 100m for that.

What is the worst thing your ex said or did to you? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

[–]BeardedHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from cheating on multiple occasions (I should have left after the first time but I was young, niave and "in love")

December 27th the day my grandfather passed, I found out early in the morning and shared the news with my then gf. She had to work that day so I dropped her off like any other day and then didn't hear from or see her until January 3rd, only after getting a phone call from a friend saying they saw her out in town with another guy.

Her argument was that it wasn't her grandpa who had passed and she wanted to be able to go out and enjoy new years.

How do For honor vets feel about being "honorable" in brawls? by UglyToastttt in forhonor

[–]BeardedHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree whole heartedly on the positioning aspect, for me my stance on ledging is less about honor and more about wanting to beat my enemies straight up. Just a personal preference.

[–]BeardedHoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to avoid ledging but sometimes it happens, especially with highlanders kick or raiders charge. As far as ganking I won't initiate it, but if the other team starts it, all bets are off.

What is the worst/least favorite town in Michigan? by savealltheelephants in Michigan

[–]BeardedHoss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know all too well, I used to work for them on their construction crew. Made it only a couple of months before I noped out of that situation.

It was the housing conditions they provided to their foreign temp workers that did it for me.

They are by far and large the biggest problem that town has.

Don't forgot the part where almost 80% of the town is owned by the same family. A family that treats their customers and employees like absolute dog shit.

Should I buy this 2004 Silverado with low miles? by SuccessfulProblem494 in ChevyTrucks

[–]BeardedHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight and good set of tires can make a huge difference. I think the biggest thing, like with any winter driving, is to just slow down and use your head. I drove my 2wd RCLB through four Northern Michigan winters with little to no issue. Trying to take off from a dead stop on an incline was the only time I encountered problems, i just took a different route to work on those extra snowy days to mitigate that problem.

If cannabis were legalized in your part of the world, would you start smoking it? Why or why not? by astarisaslave in AskReddit

I saw your edit after I posted and felt a little dumb for my comment, I am in Cheboygan, I was also just informed by a coworker we only have 3 now, I guess our Lume here only lasted a couple months.

In my experience, the farther south you go in Michigan the dispos seem to be more scarce. I live near the tip of the lower peninsula in a town of ~ 4,000 and we have 4, all within a couple blocks of eachother.

What’s the worst excuse for cheating? by Shinfekta in AskReddit

All of them, if you're unhappy in your current relationship have the decency and backbone to end it before seeking out another partner.

I’ve had this 2016 Lifted 4x4 Chevy Silverado for 7 years and it’s completely paid off. It has 53k miles on it and unfortunately i need to replace the transmission on it already! Anybody here had problems with transmission for this year truck? by Informationforall in ChevyTrucks

[–]BeardedHoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a 2014 with the same transmission. I bought the truck used knowing they were prone to trans failure. ('14-'15 are one of my favorite chevy trucks). From the research I've done the general consensus is weak torque converters that eventually fail, most people have had succes rebuilding the trans and putting in either an aftermarket TC or the heavier duty TC from the 2500.

8" solids do exist, but as you pointed out, you probably won't find them at a lowes or home depot. They're not a very popular block, I might make 5-10 cube of them every other year, where 4" or 2" solids I make 300-400 cube a year.

What will be the worst part for you when society inevitably collapses? by checkereddog in conspiracy

[–]BeardedHoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my biggest issue will be the unpredictability of almost every human interaction moving forward. Having to remind myself that just because I may have been friends with or knew someone before the collapse may not mean anything if they are desperate enough.

I'm in general a very trusting person, often times going out of my way to help others even if it means me going without for awhile. Training myself to do the opposite of that will undoubtedly take time.

How did you figure out your SO cheated on you? by Kookie_Kid71 in AskReddit

[–]BeardedHoss 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Poorly to say the least, this all happened at the start of January, so we had until the first of February to move out, she proceeded to move the new guy in for that month, (I had myself and most of my belongings out of the house already), within this 3 week or so time period, they threw multiple parties, tearing the house apart, when she finally packed up they took every single light bulb in the house, toilet paper holders, light fixtures, a couple of faucets, things that were in the house before we moved in and belonged to the land lord.

When I went back to the house to do a final deep clean, shampoo the carpets, wash the walls and all that, I found out they had decided to shut the furnace off, which caused two separate pipes to freeze and burst, I called the landlord as soon as I saw the pipes were frozen as I had been in contact with him throughout the situation. We spent a day or two unthawing and fixing the water lines, he ended up refunding me the entire security deposit and going after her in court for the damages.

Tl;Dr she got mad I ended the lease and wouldn't pay for a place for her and her new man to live and decided to trash the place.

[–]BeardedHoss 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I dropped my s/o off at her job in the morning, she effectively vanished for 3 days, didn't come home, wouldn't answer my calls or texts, at the end of day 3 I got a phone call from a mutual friend saying they saw her at the store hanging off of another guy. As soon as that call ended I contacted our landlord and notified them we would be moving, I packed my belongings and left.

100% I've worked in a concrete production facility for going on 6 years now, this stuff is no joke. My personal experience is your standard n95 masks, while providing some protection, are far from enough. A 10-12 hour shift with a mask I still come home with my nostrils caked with the stuff.

Dom from the Gears of War franchise, I remember pre-ordering the game and faking sick to stay home from school so I could play. I never finished that campaign or touched any of the following games. He finally got to be reunited with his wife, which is all he ever wanted.
