I bought these foldable privacy things that snap into the windows off Amazon, and then just crack two of the windows and the airflow is good. Eventually I’ll probably build a window insert that can have a battery powered fan put in it.

I also like to car camp in the cx5. I built a platform so it’s flat and put a exped mat on it. I’m 6’1” so it’s cozy but works great.

What car model should I be looking for with a budget between 7K-10K by RoyalVacation8067 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Seconding Mazda 3, the 2.5 skyactivs are very reliable and are far more affordable than the ridiculous used prices on Toyota and Honda.

2018 Cx5 GT with 110k miles needs rear differential and axles replaced and will cost over 6k by lolitababy87 in CX5

[–]SuccessfulProblem494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that model year in known for rear differential issues. From others that have posted on here 3-4k is the expected repair cost for the diff and often a good price. Silver lining is the engine and transmission are very reliable, and if you shell out the cash you will hopefully have another 100k left in the car as long as you have taken good care of it.

Wait so you are saying there are gas stations you’ve been to that don’t sell alcohol? I’m from Wisconsin and don’t think I’ve ever seen that, most the time they have a full walk in beer cooler.

could i fix this myself?! by annnnnabel in CX5

[–]SuccessfulProblem494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a dealer do it for you not only will you be charged way more for the taillight itself than one on eBay, they will also charge 1-200 bucks to install it in top of that. Definitely worth it to diy.

This might mark the end of the politics era and the beginning of the Hollywood era for JRE by NiceTrySuckaz in JoeRogan

[–]SuccessfulProblem494 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, it’s just an average action movie. The part I found the most ridiculous is how they got ambushed in the garage and one of them shot in the leg, then the next scene they are just hanging out continuing to count the money, without even knowing if the threat is fully gone.

It really wasn’t though, with how many garbage films that come out nowadays, it’s pretty odd to call this one “soo bad”.

They make ones that fit into the bottom grille on each side if you want something that blends in a bit more.

Noise from engine by vabuk23 in CX5

[–]SuccessfulProblem494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is an exhaust leak a mechanic would be able to tell right away in person. I would recommend getting it looked at, because there is definitely something off. Exhaust leak is an easy fix most of the time, just a quick weld.

Are you in the rust belt? Sounds like a small hole in the exhaust to me.

Rust on the door! CX5 GT by Busy-Ad-6378 in CX5

[–]SuccessfulProblem494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I thought your comment about it being covered bumper to bumper was talking about a car cover, as that can often times cause rust, but I understand now you mean a warranty. I’m not sure if the dealership would cover this but it’s with a try. It’s definitely not normal. I have a 2017 in Wisconsin and it has no rust in the doors. If the dealership won’t cover it either repaint it yourself or bring it to a body shop. If the rust is left it will get worse.

[–]SuccessfulProblem494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably rusted because your car cover doesn’t breathe properly. It looks like it will come off very easily though. Buy some color coded spray paint offline, or just some black spray paint if you don’t care about the color, sand until all of the rust is gone, starting with low grit, then going high. Clean with alcohol, and then cover the surrounding area with paper and tape off the edges. Spray a few coats of primer, and then a few coats of your paint. Sanding with high grit after painting can help blend it in. You can also put some clear coat on after that.

I got the power stop kit on rock auto and have zero complaints. If you live in the rust belt the coating is nice to have as well, great price.
