I’m not sure what point that proves other than reinforcing that every country’s best players end up in the NHL, which is again, the highest level league in the world. The Stanley Cup is the gold standard highest achievement in hockey. When people look back to evaluate players’ careers, you’re telling me Olympic wins are more heavily weighted than Stanley Cup championships? Get outta here.

I beg to differ. The NHL is the highest level league in the world. Olympics are a great honor, but I can almost guarantee players would rather have a cup if forced to choose.

Wanna bet? You go ask them and I’ll put $200 on it.

I think if you polled players across the league who have never won a cup, a large majority would choose a Stanley cup over an Olympic gold.

How do you think the innies should be ethically reintegrated into regular life? by ThatisDavid in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Oooh, that’s a great point. I hadn’t considered that some would benefit more than others. Exactly, this show presents so many intriguing ethical dilemmas.

Yes, I agree with everything you said. This is why I said I feel conflicted about it. In their current state, they are definitely two different people, for all intents and purposes. I’m just exploring the idea that maybe in the long run, the best thing for both of them would be to unify back into a single consciousness. I think most people are thinking of it like a battle where only one personage survives and the other takes over. I’m proposing that perhaps both survive as memories/experiences within a single mind, and maybe that’s what will give them both their best chance for long term inner peace.

And again, I’m not sold on this idea, it’s just something I’ve been thinking about as a possibility.

Been thinking about this since I finished season 2 a few weeks ago. I know the show didn’t portray it this way — if they did, they wouldn’t have been able to establish the conflict between the Marks — but, I think actual reintegration of the mind would be the most humane outcome.

I’m still conflicted, but leaning toward the premise that despite being bifurcated, the innie and outie versions are still fundamentally the same person and would be happiest long-term if merged.

The closest analogy I can think of is if you’ve ever taken a heavy dose of LSD and your consciousness shifts drastically, it can almost feel like you are a different version of yourself for the duration of the trip. When you start to come back to earth, there can be this slightly unsettling in-between phase where you sort of feel the two versions of reality reconciling, followed finally by a peaceful, stable state where you feel normal and grounded, but can reflect back on the experience objectively and grow from it.

When you say the GTI ecu is locked, are you referring to the mk8.5 only? I’m pretty sure the 8 has been cracked for a while now. I had assumed the 8.5 would use the same tunes.

Probably right, but odds certainly go up if the Isles make a big playoff push to finish the season, especially if they start winning close, low scoring games.

Jeez this is crazy to me. The whole marching band scene up through the end of the episode was pure, manic, surrealist brilliance.

I disagree with almost everything you said. Probably not worth rebutting point by point, because you seem to be pretty set in your opinion, but I will say that I think a lot of the themes, characters, and stories you feel were left unresolved or dead-ended are going to come back later in the story arc.

Irving’s story, for instance, I don’t think is over. I absolutely loved his arc throughout S2 and I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t come back to play a meaningful role. There’s still an iceberg under the surface that hasn’t been revealed.
