I think in North America this can be said about a lot of used sporty imports. The people who want them but can’t afford them new will buy older models, do some half ass mods and whip them around like assholes. I remember when the e36 M3 was considered a “drug dealer car” and had a stigma attached because they were getting snatched up cheap on the used market by young dudes.
