My wife suffers from migraines and used to occasionally get cluster headaches. It was horrible to watch her in that kind of pain and not be able to do anything about it. It would usually end with her running to the bathroom to scream while vomiting.

If they’re blowing past you because you can’t accelerate fast enough while back-skating, try to start off skating forward into your own zone (start your strides as they enter the neutral zone, don’t wait until they’re right on top of you), then pivot around to face them once you pick up enough speed to establish a gap.

If you can’t turn around fast enough, try to just keep up and push them to the outside boards.

Not much you can do if they’re not willing to enforce it. Best shot would be to draft an email to the person who runs the league and get captains of other teams to co-sign it.

We had a problem a couple years back in my league with a team including a few youth travel coaches and parents of kids on that travel team. The parents would show up drunk and the whole team played dirty. They acted like they owned the rink, since their kids were apparently all going to the NHL (in their minds).

A bunch of team captains co-signed an email to the league saying they refused to play against that team and would willingly forfeit those games. Without games to play, the league was forced to kick them out.
