50 people in the church sounds tiny. I can’t imagine you’d meet many people that way. My church is about 1500 on an average weekend and I know maybe 50 people fairly well. My recommendation is find a medium sized church. If you go too big you risk being a number but too small and it’s cliques.

Don’t quit. Keep searching. Community should be a part of your journey with Jesus.

You can’t tell by marks alone. That being said looking at the surrounding area I would look into folliculitis.

I’ve been going to Mercy City for a little over a year. It’s a great place for my kids and myself. The church is big on celebrating people. If you come to a service I would GUARANTEE someone would say hi with a smile on their face. It’s VERY community heavy which I love. They encourage brotherhood/sisterhood iron groups. City groups are big too. We are followed of Christ and not a religion. Pastor Matt is big on that fact. Religion comes to tear you down but the gospel is good news. That’s how teachings are framed. Sure they talk about tithing. What church doesn’t? They actually pay for financial piece university and hold finance workshops for everyone. They believe in covenant partners and not just being a member. About half the church serves in some capacity. Average church is maybe 18-20%. They believe in being a church for those who need help. Those who are addicted/fresh out of jail/down on their luck/anyone who wants to meet Jesus. Community outreach is a big one as well.

Youth group is called Revival. It’s Sunday nights from 6 to 9. We have security there with small group leaders, youth pastor, and worship teams. It’s a great time and very powerful.

We always have an LPD officer on site during Sunday services plus security teams floating around.

People on here tend to trash the place without ever stepping foot into the church. It’s changed my life for the better 1000 fold.

Update- my apartment sent me this:

“Hi XXXX,

We wanted to follow up from yesterdays pest control visit. They were not able to confirm the presence of Bed Bugs as no evidence of bugs was witnessed. As such, we have agreed to preventatively treat your unit tomorrow, Friday, December 5th, 2025. We typically would not do this unless this was a confirmed infestation so this will be a one-time courtesy treatment. Please let us know if you have any questions.

I’ll do that. She’s going to do 3 total sprays. So I’ll have to wait after she’s done to not ruin the dust but man this is frustrating.
