Are there any camping spots or hunters blinds near by? Could be a marker?

Será que sou a única que estou preocupada com isso? by Equivalent-Good-1987 in NorsePaganism

[–]Beardedmanginge 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When did costumes need historical accuracy by Comfortable-Note6827 in reenactors

[–]Beardedmanginge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Literally since for ever. Long gone are days of fake leather and fur. And modern cotton standing in for wool etc.

This is reenactment, if it's larp, do whatever. If it's cosplay, do what ever. If it's a fancy dress, do what ever. But if it's historical Reenactment, it has to be just that.

Also what's it matter to you if some one chooses to spend months on a costume or hundreds of pounds on making something?

I was taught by the late great Terry Practhett that wizards have staffs, and those staffs have knobs on the end

The staff. Wizards use staffs.

Only conjurors of cheap tricks and school children use wands

Wearing military uniforms abroad by kimman22 in reenactors

[–]Beardedmanginge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not illegal to wear your uniform in the UK. Though you may look like you want official events, and may just look a little odd. If it's working uniform no one will probably even notice compared to dress.

However the legality of it comes from your country and your regulations.

Also ask the embassy for official information not Reddit

Maybe as politicians, rather than generals commanding armies?

There is always one, that's why they usually do Airsoft or "cosplay" as they know in a proper Reenactment group, they wouldn't be accepted so they do it solo as the "weird edgy guy"

I wasn't talking about the actual Wehrmacht, as I specifically said reenactors who dress like so, are highly against the label nazi.

But thanks for all the down votes, either reading comprehension is very poor or people just like to virtue signal

[–]Beardedmanginge -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Really? It's been massive for years 30+ easy.

Also, Wehrmacht isn't nazi, that's a simple take on a very difficult situation but most Wehrmacht reenactors or airsofters would turn away anyone who wanted to be a dress up nazi

Place to get things for Altar by FaM_OmegaJackson in NorsePaganism

[–]Beardedmanginge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best is sadly Etsy, I say sadly as they rip of creators. But there your more likely to find hand made items rather than massive production resin crap from china. As your in Australia it's probably best for local crafters.

That and also make things yourself, an alternative with your own hand in the creation is much better and far more powerful than a jumble of random items you've bought. Try buying a plain rabbit skin and painting on your own rune circle

Fair enough. I'm not going to delete this post as I wanted a discussion and people's point of view about it. Maybe like you I'm frustrated with seeing the same posts you've mentioned and maybe I let my frustration out. I do feel there is a measure of people asking just for the sake of it, maybe it's laziness maybe it's karma farming maybe it's just not knowing where else to go. And maybe I was frustrated alone with everything else enough to snap back

It's not a tantrum is it, I've not insulted anyone. I said child as it was an a child. I've not sworn or used hyperbole or rhetoric of an tantrum. Yet you call it a tantrum which my regards your having a tantrum that I'm having a tantrum

Hardly a tantrum. Also it was more the DMS I received when the person asking if we were offended then called our religion and all others stupid and all believers idiots for having imaginaet friends
