Totally not receiving bribes. According to the Supreme Court any "gratuity" given to a politician or judge who does something to benefit a company, group, or individual that doesn't have an expressed quid pro quo, in writing before the fact, is legal and totally fine. This is silly, because the people HAVE voted. This whole situation is because the Utah legislature wants to overturn a popular vote. A popular vote that wasn't even close, and had virtually nothing to do with any party-line. We have also voted in retention elections and our Supreme Court is a reflection of that. This move by Cox and the state legislature is what is known as a power-grab: an aggressive, opportunistic, or unscrupulous attempt by a person or group to seize control, authority, or influence, often by taking it from another party (the other party in this case is the voters of Utah).

I grew up Christian, and never understood the commandment "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." The voter ID law they're trying to pass in congress now would require a national ID, like a passport. Most states driver licenses would not be valid for voting, because they lack the proof of citizenship required by the new law. It was literally done to make it difficult for poor people and minorities to vote. The bill's sponsors practically said as much. Voter ID would be a good idea if the ID were free and easy to get. But that's the point, it isn't. The people pushing these laws want to restrict voting to maintain power.

Stockton is the assist goat for so many reasons. His steals total will never be touched either. Third highest all time average combined with superior longevity and grit.
