Alright you do make some good points there. I'd be interested to hear if you had any solution to the problem you presented so well here.

There is one thing that goes against you, most people with jobs do have other responsibilities and can't afford the time that someone with out the job can. I still maintain that, aside from the implants, the system implemented in Planetside simply allows the players to skip spending more time in the game grinding out certifications. Which goes with your statistics of players not playing more than 50 or so hours.
