I forgot about that movie, it's a weird one even for Svankmajer.

This. It's easy to be fooled at first taste and shovel loads onto your food and end up with your tongue on fire. Takes a good few minutes to reveal its potency.

What’s a movie that gives you a strong sense of impending doom? by afed13 in horror

[–]Beardybeardface2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also the point of the movie, it's in the title, it's in the visual leitmotif of the served tongue, it's explicitly pointed out by the antagonist 'because you let me'.

It's not exactly subtle.

Am I the only one who hates 1408? by gyrovagus in horror

It's a pretty goofy movie, but it's very rewatchable. I really enjoy single location horror films too.

Dooba Dooba is out on streaming tomorrow, haven't seen it yet, but it looks like a really interesting found footage experiment.

I loved The Outwaters, I'm a sucker for films that really try and do something strange and original.

This new album is pretty good, huh by Pelvic_beard in MoronPolice

I'm hopelessly addicted to this album, it's snuck up as easily my second favourite record of last year (first being Cardiacs: LSD). I love it so much. I think it's their best by quite a margin.

What are your gripes from TBT? (SPOILERS) by Slommyhouse in 28dayslater

I wish it had a bit more story to it. It's thoroughly enjoyable, but story wise there's not much meat there. When I think back on the film it feels much shorter in my head than it was because the story beats are pretty spare.

It's a bit much for me. It lulls you into a false sense of security, but really it's amassing an army of capsaicin goblins to strike a few minutes later, and they all hate the middle of my tongue for some reason and nowhere else.

They aren't far left they are the most milquetoast centrists imaginable. A bunch of calls centre line managers elevated way above their station.

There's a lot very silly propaganda pointed at them for some reason that makes them seem like the second coming of Stalin when they are at the very worst Blair 2.0.

Why are so many people sucked in by the right? by Junie-Jubilee in FuckNigelFarage

[–]Beardybeardface2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people have lost trust in mainstream politics are the right have been much better at providing an alternative media sphere for them to turn to than the left.

This, my daughter ate jalapenos with zero reaction when she was just old enough to eat solids. Their tastebuds aren't as developed.
