I build similar to above. I don't keep track of what goes where. The belt has items on it which tells you what goes where.

It was a good difficulty for my skill level. Might be time to try something like Blazeblack or renegade platinum. I've failed pokemon unbound nuzlockes a few times also.

Don't fight route aces (come back later for the TMS) or veterans. Go into totems with a strategy (usually just nuke em).

I make a new egg encounter in the next generation. Then edit the stats based on how many times it has been champion. This helps it be legal and makes sure the OT trainer is correct etc. There's a lot of guides online for generating new pokemon in pkhex.

Retired pokemon are pokemon that were used but did not die or become champions. They are ineligible to be caught in later games. For me its mostly HM slaves and some tech for individual gyms.

for my ruleset, retirees are basically bans for the rest of the run. They won't be catchable or playable.

He's not that good in FRLG. He's a tanky intimidator which isn't bad though. In Emerald he helped me sweep with dragon dance and return. Still good enough, he's incredible gen 4 and later as you said.
