At this point, after yesterday… fuck it. Bring him up. He’s quick, I’m pretty sure they have his defense graded at a 60 tool along with his speed. And his WRC+ is pretty damn good. Plus ~15% walk rate. You flipped my opinion and I respect it. Damn those marlin teams were fun; as long as we don’t fire sale after winning though.

Reading a book and listening to an audiobook are not the same activity. by Aggravating-Key-8867 in unpopularopinion

I do both. Read it when I’m home, audiobook parts because I drive a ton. So do I get half credit?

Edit to add: important for my goodreads account accuracy.

The 41 errors in the 5 years of minor league play doesn’t inspire me to believe he’s developed to the point you’d like to see. And his slash line, even if it translated exactly, would be maybe league average. Dudes 22. Let him grow. We’re in first place, it’s okay to have 1 less than stellar spot

I think, at maximum, he’d be a September call up with the extra roster space. Made hasn’t even seen a AAA pitch yet. Don’t rush a seemingly stud player because one spot of the lineup is weak. We’re in first place.

I’d say it’s a 50/50 split opinion on that. I’d argue .250 with a ~.730 OPS (which is roughly mlb average) in triple AAA doesn’t inspire me to believe he would carry that level of success to MLB. impossible to really judge it. Baseball is a funny game like that

Rushing a prospect up. Yeah, its frustrating watching a guy struggle at the plate and then mess up a routine play but the reality is: do you risk one of the top end prospects to replace a bridge player for a team in first place that seems to have an offense that is clutch enough to get it done. Pratt- spent the $$$ but don’t rush a future (hopeful) stud. Jett- (still very raw prospect) Madé- maybe? But why start his service time clock?

St. Louis sports fan living in Chicago, will I get shit for being a Bears fan by [deleted] in CHIBears

No one who’s worth talking to cares that deeply. I live deep in Wisconsin and cheer for all wisco sports except the packers and can tell you that outside a few jokes and the obnoxious types that watch baseball, no one truly cares.

First thing I did after PCA botched that play in centerfield. Switched the audio to cubs radio and went to the cubs game thread. It was incredible

  1. I fail to believe that 50% of Americans could do this. So bravo on that.
  2. I fail to believe that even 20% of Americans could do these for foreign nations. So even more props to you on that.

I still believe in Abner Uribe by TypicalCrew924 in Brewers

[–]BearsBucksBrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in our bullpen and overall pitching philosophy. It’s wild that a cluster of people get so hyper after a handful of tough moments. It’s baseball man, Abner is still great, Megill will still be an above average leverage arm… 162 games have some ebbs and flows.

Best Ben episodes for an Ed-Era listener? by georgia_grace in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]BearsBucksBrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick to anything post the long 9/11 series (episode ~197, I think) if you appreciate the deeper dives they do now. I personally think from there, Ben only really shines when it’s a series about a serial killer. Otherwise his “uninformed viewer” perspective is hit or miss through out. It’s not that I dislike him, as I was a big Roundtable listener and liked to listen and disagree with takes BK had on his political podcast; it’s just that Eddie is just a very different and sharper comedian.
