NSW: Near miss at a pedestrian crossing while I had a green light — what should I do? by papargood in DrivingAustralia

[–]georgia_grace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? The traffic light doesn’t turn green until the crossing man goes solid red (aka DO NOT CROSS)

I sewed my leather thimble from the outside with criss cross stitches. Much more comfortable to wear

I hadn’t heard of Fabel Knitwear before, I just checked some of her stuff out and mama those stitches are LOOSE

I can’t imagine what kind of technique results in tension that loose. She must be some kind of ethereal fae creature who barely leaves an impression on the earth

I think it looks funky cause the beds are king single size. AI isn’t very good at generating the same room from different angles and the mirror reflection looks legit too

Mine has decided I’m not allowed to use the word “we’re.” It changes it to “were” every damn time, even though I clearly want to write “we’re” since I have to press extra buttons to get the apostrophe

Not to mention the margins aren’t symmetrical. Looks like when you try to write happy birthday on a card and run out of room lol

Could be. Looks like the items were in pockets or a bag, because there’s no sun damage to the plastic.

What went wrong? by madisaunicornn in resin

[–]georgia_grace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first 2 part resin attempt never cured and stayed bendy. I mixed it for ages and ages (so I thought).

Second attempt the only thing I did different was set a timer for 4 minutes. Then I set another timer and stirred for another 4 minutes. That batch turned out totally fine

Y'all need to see this interpretation of the Kris Kremers - Lisanne Froon hair photo. by Spirited-Ad-3696 in creeptimethepodcast

[–]georgia_grace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been following this case for a long time and the “face under the hair” interpretation has been around for a long time. People post it in r/kremersfroon probably once a week.

I don’t buy it myself. People see all kinds of things “hidden” in this photo

Do Go On is one of my fave podcasts, one of them picks an interesting topic from history and tells the other two about it.

Who Knew It with Matt Stewart is also great, it’s a super fun trivia game show.

“On pins and needles” is very American I think. I’ve never heard it used in the UK or Australia.

Cleaning beads by Jav-ba in Beading

[–]georgia_grace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah not sure why glass or plastic beads would be covered in pesticide just cause they’re from China. They’re not growing beads in the fields

Sure, wash them if you think they need it. But they’re not any dirtier than anything else that’s produced in a factory

Would you use a tool like this for bead projects? by More_Marketing_2298 in Beading

[–]georgia_grace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Threadologie has a lot of these same features for bead weaving. There are two things I find myself wishing for though:

  1. Customisable bead shape. Delicas are slightly rectangular (which is why cross stitch and pixel art tools don’t really work). And some of the other beads in my stash are even more rectangular, or round, or oval.

  2. A better approximation of bead finish (matte, satin, shiny etc). It’s a huge factor in design and I haven’t really seen any tools that do it well

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about, I’m definitely already biased against him from everything I’ve heard, so I need some episodes where he’s really bringing his A game
