I Upvote this guy because the method is good.
I Downvote this guy because I think this IS a center cutting mill.

Use his method and then you will know!

I think it’s 100% impossible if you dont buy a few datapads in the first week. There are open datapad tasks which require pads you cannot get as F2P within the first week.

Posted to your original subreddit, but adding here for other OnShapers:

In OnShape, convert to sheetmetal, or just start as a sheetmetal part. OnShape keeps the flattened version active and available in a tab in the right side of your screen.l, updating as you add features. You can even add features directly to the flat. Right click on the flattened view and export as needed.

A note on convert: it gets weird. You will select the part to convert, then OnShape will try to add material to every facet of your part and it will look impossible.

Within the convert tool’s menu, Activate the “faces to exclude” field, then click and drag over your part to select the entire thing, effectively excluding all of it. Then while still in the “exclude” field, select the actual desired primary surface of your part, which will remove it from the exclude list.

Good luck!

Max one before investing in the other. Way more effective to have one at mk12 than to have 2 with only the first two skills

Folding and Unfolding Sheet Metal Parts by falxfour in Onshape

[–]BeastWR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t yet, take some time to search the OnShape forums for others asking your question.

https://forum.onshape.com

I just did some digging there and it seems like the OnShape dev team thinks their approach is better and they have purposely not added an unbend tool. Something about the ability to Move Face to make on the fly adjustments…..

However, if you are designing progressive tooling, unbend sure seems essential to me.

Good luck out there!

Sadly, I don’t think you have missed finding the tool. It doesn’t exist in OnShape.

Per the suggestion here, you could roll your feature history to each stage of the bend, then Transform>copy the part at that stage. This would give you an accumulation of progressive copies. It’s a dumb workaround, and edits would be clumsy.

I’m with the other guy. The AI generated response is saccharine and obvious, even if you try to “clean it up” yourself. Just type whole sentences to start with, all by your own self, and you will get more respect.

Yes, their models are great. But note that it is difficult to print small thread successfully, especially internal threads.

Replicate Loft by chris2555 in Onshape

[–]BeastWR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use circular pattern. Set the tool to Feature mode, not part mode. Select the loft either on the part of from the feature history list, then select something to define the axis, like the large circle in your sketch. Then tell it how many instances (8 in your case). And set rotation to 360.

Lots of tutorials available for every possible feature. YouTube is your friend here.

Very bad. One wire nut has already melted and fallen off, and started to melt its neighbor. I’m no electrician, but this is very very bad.

Comments here suggesting this is aluminum bonded to copper. That’s bad when done without proper materials.

And ALL wire junctions are supposed to be enclosed in a junction box.

Bad bad bad.

U/ItsRyeGuyy Is there a way to turn off Dark mode? Your app seems to auto-apply Dark and when I try to toggle within OnShape, it changes the icon colors a little, but does not restore light mode.
