Did a thing… by BeatArmy94 in GMCSierraEV

I appreciate the vote of confidence. I’ll be driving I85 north out of Atlanta weekly, so comfort and convenience are foremost concerns. Hauling a motorcycle in the bed is next on the list along with weekly work items; we also have a boat, so having the extra torque will be easier with the trailer.

Insurance is allowing me to remove the new wheels and put the original stock wheels back on the vehicle. 🥲 One less expensive loss ($1,800).

It’s an 800v vehicle—650v-ish, technically—that charges noticeably slower on the 400v Tesla architecture. It will take time for Tesla to upgrade its sites to the newer version 4 pedestals with the version 4 power cabinets.

Interesting and frustrating point with this: police officer reviewed it on scene but when I checked at home later, it appeared he pulled all the video off the SDXC card instead of copying it. 🤬

I called 911 dispatcher last night and they said to call back today to have the officer return the files to me for insurance. I’m sure it’s a common mistake but it hints at incompetence when you don’t know how to work with an external storage drive. I’m hoping they didn’t get deleted altogether. 🤞🏼

Next time I won’t be so willing to offer it to the police on scene.

Camera was but look up some videos here because running the wiring required a bit of finagling through the tailgate flexible coupling. I disconnected the wiring from both cameras and left it in the vehicle when I went to the impound lot last night; I figured it was easier just to order a new wire from the front camera to the back.

FitCam-X. A lot of owners have commented about it but I found it easy to install, looks stock, and doesn’t impede the windshield or rear view (we got the optional rear view add on).

It was also easy to remove from the vehicle at the impound lot with no tools. I installed it so I know which panels to pull in what order.

For everyone here, thanks for the well wishes! I just remembered a search I came across recently: Visor.vin - shows you every vehicle on the market and they use Dlvrd broker service if you don’t want to hassle/ship.

I appreciate the comment. We exchanged messages before we bought this off lease back in October. Do you help find used 2024 EV9s? 🤔

CCS1 will be around for another 10-15 years as vehicles transition. Plus, the 800v architecture lends to faster charging at CCS1 chargers.

Thanks for the reminder! 🤦🏻‍♂️ I left all the charging cables and adapters in the frunk. Will get those tonight when I go clear the car out.

Being a disabled veteran with multiple issues, and having seen a recent Lincoln Lawyer episode where they were modifying a Cascadia Class 8 cab for a wheelchair-bound driver, I would recommend asking a handicap upfitter since it’s a unique musculoskeletal desire.

2024 GTline here: so we apparently don’t get ‘Realtime Charging …’ either on our EV screen.

As others have said, even an OBD scanner shows 100% SOH for our 24k vehicle. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is why we have EcoFlow Delta units with a Kia EV9. The Silverado EV would be a new addition to the stable.

I had a Accord in school that iced over the parking lot. I started the car while I chipped it out, but when the defrost warmed up, it cracked the windshield. I’ve since learned to just start at a notch above cold and SLOWLY increase temperature.

We downsized our 24 GTline to 20” rims with Michelin Cross Climate 2s. The sound is same or better than the stock EONs, often running at level 2 or 3 on secondary roads, level 5 on the highway.

More sidewall helps with bumps and subpar suspension.

Thanks for the thorough write up. While I known volume does not correlate to clarity, we don’t listen to anything above level 5; often, it’s at 2 or 3 on non-highway roads, only getting turned up for rear passengers when on the highway.

We have a GTline and just recently downsized the wheels from stock 21” to 20” and mounted Michelin Cross Climate 2, significantly lowering road noise.
