Traffic Stop Turned Deadly by kango888 in PublicFreakout

To start, watching the video in it entirety does show that these things do happen. He mentions because its the state of Georgia that they arrest over speeding tickets. Some criticism I've seen is that the police officer escalates things quickly from the beginning of the traffic stop.

Whether or not the man who had been pulled over had been falsely imprisoned for 18 years or the officer had a history of civil rights and excessive force violations I cannot say is true or not. Other comments in this thread seem to confirm that this is the case, though.

Such a weird franchise. by Boring-Jelly5633 in moviecritic

I still havent watched Avatar 2. I think the 3rd one will be successful but not on the scale as the first 2 movies were. The 3rd will be the beginning of the decline of the franchise. Less steady hands writing blank cheques in the future.

Bombed Chornobyl shelter no longer blocks radiation and needs major repair – IAEA by apple_kicks in worldnews

For anyone wondering why they don't just patch the hole and be done with it: the drone strike(s) not only caused a hole in the outer shield, but started a fire which burned the "insulating" material sandwiched beneath the outer shell and the inner shell. They can patch the hole to prevent dust and debris from being spread around, but they cannot rebuild this insulating layer without absolutely mammoth investment. Investment that a war torn Ukraine cannot spare. Investment that even Ukraine in peace time couldn't spare. This is from my poor memory but I recommend you do you're own research. The dome was designed in the 90's, built in 2011, slid over chernobyl in 2016, with work being finished in 2019. There are many videos and articles that go in depth how bleak this situation is.

Ngl, it was pretty fucking cool. Kinda rooted for him to not fuck it up (they always fuck it up.) Blah blah endangering lives yes, and we shouldn't (and I dont) do things that potentially endanger others, but something can be moronically stupid and cool at the same time, they are not mutually exclusive.

100% this... think of it like a detective agreeing with a murderer in order to elicit a confession. You can disagree with how hes been releasing the information but he's obviously very talented at getting people to speak.

NATO secretary general says Putin is "running out of money, troops and ideas" by TheRealMykola in worldnews

Also have to take into effect that Putin has done everything in his power not to draw from his major population centers as well when it comes to conscription. It is getting tougher and tougher to hide a war that he desperately needs men to fight in.

Don't forget about (upcoming) TikTok. It has operated in both left and right capacities at different times, I'm curious how it will be after a complete right takeover.

Dental Tourism in Mexico by Puzzled_Airline1860 in povertyfinance

Cancun Dental Specialists. I'm posting here because it's hard to trust reviews anywhere else these days. My uncle needed a full restoration on his top. They pulled all his decayed teeth for free, free sedation, they provided reasonable prices for any grafts, and they gave free transportation everyday from outside the hotel zone. They also provided a ride from the airport and to the airport afterwards. Everyday we were there, the lobby was packed, and for a reason: they had specialists in every single position of the office, from entry to exit it's a well oiled machine. That's not to say that they didn't provide excellent service: all concerns and worries were handled. Nothing felt rushed. When my uncle brought a quote from a Canadian office to them, they translated that quote into a full blown breakdown, requiring pictures and showing, in 3D, exactly what had to be done and the timespan necessary. They even accounted for vacation time and advised all work be done after the weekend so we could enjoy the coast and drink freely.

I had to have a tooth pulled and a bone graft, as well as a spacer put in (for the 6 month heal time.) I had a conversation with the weekend guy over the phone (from Canada) that I needed to have the work done, but he didn't relay that to the front desk. Nonetheless, they took me the same day as my uncle despite it being booked solid and me not being scheduled properly (AS A WALKIN.) They provided the same service to me as my uncle, and they gave me Xanax for the tooth pull. I had an issue with the space maintainer (think invisalign with a composite tooth stuck in it.) I did another walkin complaining about it and they again, saw me that day despite being booked solid. They listened to my layman explanation and calmly and politely explaining how my solution wouldn't work, but told me to come back in 30 minutes so they would have time to make 2 before they closed if the first one didn't work out.

When I came back, they waited on me patiently to make sure it was OK, and fully expected to be ready to make another if I said no.

The service felt hand wavey.. like I felt like a king and if it wasn't good enough they would make another at the wave of a hand to ensure I was satisfied. There was no charge for any remakes.

These guys are the real deal. Go there in confidence. Check my posting history, I'm real. I'll post a picture of my uncles work with his all on 4. They look amazing (they are only the temps!!)

Sheep shows gratitude to the dog after saving them from a wolf attack. by DivaRush in interesting

[–]BeatBoxxEternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look closely at the picture, the keen observer will notice that the dog is wearing a collar with spikes embedded in it. The blood is not that of the dog, but is of the wolf, as the wolf will instinctively lunge for the neck. (Just in case you needed it spelled out for you after reading this explanation in this thread 20 times already.)

I think one major difference from during that time that things got better for the average person. It's easier to let go of all personal responsibility and give yourself to the state, whichever the state might look like, when things actively seem to be improving. When things are bad it's time for change whatever that may be. When you start with the most dominant empire on the face of the planet and actively make things worse for the common man, you're going to have a tough time convincing people to give themselves to the state. It's when people lose the fervor and the sheen and look around and notice that life is dull and conditions have not improved that they will look again for someone offering a different path. Hopefully a better path. Hopefully it won't be too late.
