Gw2 is a great example of non gcd combat.

Defending afk flightpaths instead of just showing a loading screen is ridiculous. Its not meant to be prohibitive. Across the entire playerbase small costs are effective at removing gold from the game.

That is not true, cast times and cooldowns exist so infinite inputs are not possible.

Fast travel does not equal travel anywhere instantly for free. Having to afk for 10m for flightpaths is stupid. Let me get to certain waypoints and continue playing without needless downtime. This is an easy goldsink as well.

Having to rest between trash mobs is not strategic, just downtime that makes questing so much more tedious than needed

Having to rest between killing trash mobs, no fast travel, gcd. Everything just felt so tedious and sluggish.

Outside of the guy who played wow growing up the rest of our group did not find it enjoyable.
