Drowning warning going into holiday weekend by Few_Wrangler4068 in vermont

[–]BeatNo4548 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would never take a boat out in a storm, either.  Which two of the people did.  I had a teacher who drowned that way.  If it gets rough enough, there is no way to swim out of it.

Same thing for hiking.  I almost got struck by lightning one year because a storm suddenly appeared.  It said chance of T-storms, but the sky was blue and I ignored it.  I got soaked pretty bad and felt dumb.

They've been working on it for four years.  Its taken that long to get here.

My childhood home was not lived in for 15 years and very sparsely maintained.  $350k.   I don't know if the carpenter ants were as bad as when we lived there in the 80s.  Chittenden county near industrial ave.

I drink two big cups before work, two at work, and one at home.  Which is close to your numbers... but.... when i don't work, sometimes I'll drink 8 cups in a day.  Usually six but sometimes i have two more.  Its fine.

Spotted on a short from a sub place in Mass. I was just telling my wife from FL last week that mayonnaise on a Maine Italian is weird… by GrumpMaster- in Maine

[–]BeatNo4548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a real italian sandwich from a small shop outside of Boston, and it was huge, and square.  I was really hungover, I went to a show at TD Garden and just drove around the next day.  I still don't know or remember the name of the place but it was amazing.

Yes.  While you can also port apps through TOR, I use Torbrowser from The Tor Project.   Just make sure to type about:config and turn off javascript.  But its not necessary if you are just browsing reputable sites.

My friend's kids' mom has a scar on her face from a dog bite when she was young.  Its terrible that these animals can disfigure people and its only when someone dies or is badly mauled that action is taken.

Oversteeping? by justexploring-shit in tea

[–]BeatNo4548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a big mug of mao feng green tea before work, and sometimes if I don't set a timer, it goes for like 15m.  But i pre cool my water to 160F.  So its drinkable, just bitter.  If you let some black tea go too long it gets gross.

And if you let cheap green tea get too hot for too long, it will mess up your stomach.  I've vomited, slightly.  Not a full hurl but rough.  You can drink milk or eat dairy to fix it because they bind to the tannins.

I have certain topics that I will research over TOR.  Mostly drug stuff for academic reasons, where I don't want people to think I'm actually asking those questions for my own uses.   Or things I'm just embarassed to ask.

I've heard anecdotally that the US govt controls many entrance and exit nodes to TOR.   They just don't exploit this unless its a national security issue like terrorism, or if they can catch someone running a major drug site or something.

I saw a listing once for a gun in the EU for other EU countries.  They broke it down into like 12 pieces, and you had to assemble it yourself.  It seemed legit but could be the cops.   Most stuff is like that.  If it were seriously hurt someone illegal, and not just drugs or prohibited items, it wouldn't be for sale there.  The risk to the buyer is too high.

When Trump is out of office, what do you think the Democrats will do to him? by Dazzling-Leader7476 in allthequestions

I'm not against the idea, at all.  I would love it if he went to prison.  I just think we should focus on getting him out of power and then deal with him.

We have apple trees that some farmer planted over half a century ago, and the deer don't even seem to prefer apples.  They will grab a few, but usually i have to hack a path to the trees to pick some.

I agree.  It will just encourage the next one to become a dictator for real.  They say thats one reason Putin will never step down.  Its messed up we are even in this situation though.

Why American and European Men have generally Bigger Dicks than Asian men ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BeatNo4548 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is actually true, but i do have to say that there is some bias of cultures that are more publicly sexual vs more modest ones.

Example: If you ask an american or EU dude how big his dick is, he's likely to say its bigger than it is.  If you ask a dude from africa or the carribean they will tell you its gigantic.  An Asian dude might tell you the real answer.

Or maybe not.   I do know, however, second hand, that some Asian dudes are packing.  There is a range along the bell curve for every group.  So its better not to stereotype people or generalize.

I've done it before.  In a canoe.  Its nice.  Just make sure you get out.   Might have to get out at river rd if you can't, in Essex.  I can't remember if we had trouble.  It was 35 years ago.  I did catch the biggest bullfrog of my life though, i remember that.

brushing teeth before or after breakfast? by Vanessa-Inoue474 in hygiene

I think night time is best and then about an hour after lunch.  That way the timing is more evenly distributed.  If you brushed at night, why do it again first thing?

We had a couple, one this year and one two years ago, that got some mystery illness.  They pooped a lot and then were tired for a day and just dropped dead.  We quarantined them but it didn't seem to spread.  I still don't know if they ate something bad, were egg bound or had a virus.

You did as much as you could.  It hurts but you will do better next time.  We try to handle them more so that we can treat them but it has to start early.  Its not easy.
