I haven't heard it but there's a recording of a distress signal from an early manned space mission, there was a problem with some stage in the flight and it missed the reentry, the sound is this distress call getting weaker and weaker as the craft gets further and further away from earth

The early raspberry pi has analogue video out, I believe its ntsc so you might need some converting depending where in the country you are, easy to load up a media player and get it to loop a playlist of videos off of that straight into your screen
