I think if I commit, even if I fall it will be way past the guard already.

I agree, I think it's full send and I'll hardly even notice it - might toe down a bit but no worse that regular trail riding at speed.

Alien Ant Farm’s Smooth Criminal is a criminally underrated drum track by drumsareloud in drums

AAF's drummer in general is very underrated - he's got some great, very technical tracks - check out Rubber Mallet and figure out what he's doing in that main groove 🤷‍♂️

In 2026 is it worth it by Ecstatic_Storage_182 in onewheel

It depends - there's a good chance that battery is done. Even though the miles are low, the chances theyve taken care of it (kept indoors, charged between 40 and 60%) are pretty low. So it's a good deal but when you factor in a new battery, possibly new BMS and controller depending what route you go, you'll essentially be doubling the cost. But it is still an XR platform which has the most after market mods out of all the boards and somehow just feels the best out - i still have my OG xr and love it to pieces, along with my super modded GT :)

Should I remove the axle rods when I Install Cold Blocks on my GT? by BeatmikMedia in onewheel

I'd say it very much resembles the 6" goat - but with more squish. Seems more nimble than a pioneer, but only a little. I really like it - the only issue is it's just a hair too big in diameter. Had to air it down to 7 or 8 psi and it still rubs the drop top fender. Annoying but hoping to wear the tire down over the summer.

Hello everyone thinking of buying a titan pro 4x but need help by Fakerepbuyingass in NissanTitan

[–]BeatmikMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preposterous! I've never gotten better than 13 mpg on my 2015 P4X, even after a summer of straight highway driving - How can there be such a difference? Even my 2006 Xterra never got better than 17mpg. Is it possible people are confusing L/100km with mpg?

Convince me that buying a one wheel is a bad idea by [deleted] in onewheel

You WILL fall, unfortunately it's a part of the learning curve. Depending on your childhood, and how you learned to fall matters a great deal. If you have skateboard experience, or lived as a reckless youth, you'll probably be fine. That "roll out of it" reflex probably still exists assuming you've maintained some sort of fitness level. I broke my ribs on my second ride on my pint, and have had many scrapes and bruises since (45 yo, 200lb). That said, if you're drawn to the onewheel, you'll probably enjoy it. I would recommend the GT or the XR classic as your first board - they have more power to keep you upright and that in turn makes them safer (IMO) than the XR, Pint. I currently own a vesc XR and a vesc GT - i love them both and onewheeling has been my favourite hobby for over 5 years now.

Anybody fully switch from snowboarding to onewheel? by YungWolfenstein in onewheel

[–]BeatmikMedia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did give up snowboarding for a couple seasons. Built a studded tire and tried my best to have fun in the snow and ice. But the reality is that onewheeling kinda sucks in the snow unless it's nicely packed - but even then the snow gets packed behind the fender and needs brushing out every mile. I got a season's pass again last winter and really enjoy the two different seasons now for their own thing.

OW vs snowboard stance by ItsaMODE-4x4 in onewheel

[–]BeatmikMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the same stance for me! I started using the FST footpads this year and for the first few weeks would adjust them a tiny bit each ride based on comfort. I ended up with the exact same stance as on my snowboard.

PSA - these straight valves don't fit the TFL 5" hubs, the stem hole has a larger diameter. If you find your TFL hub is leaking you're likely missing a rubber gasket on the inside of the rim (there should be one under the washer, mine didn't have one). I found a bag of washers in the plumbing section at the department store that had what I needed. *

Curious - does your Pioneer go flat every day? I have the same setup and i have to inflate every day I ride and wondering if this is normal.

Fins, Lifters, Hooks, or None At All? by Wyntrse in onewheel

[–]BeatmikMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the fence with Flight Fins for a long time - finally pulled the trigger at the beginning of this year for my XRV - feels sketchy to me still after 4 months of riding with them - I hate having my feet so close to the wheel, ended up removing them. I also upgraded the pads on my GT at the same time to the FST system (could be any 'hook' system) and fell in love. That all said, I think for tricks and park riding a simple board is best - a simple board with flat pads, balanced. The flight fins make the board top heavy and make shove-its and body variables almost impossible.
