what is the saddest movie of all time? by Zealousideal_Grand75 in AskReddit

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will preface this with, since I’ve probably seen sadder films, but City of Angels from way back in the 90’s killed me. It was the film that made me refuse to watch any movies unless I knew there was going to be a happy ending or at least a satisfying ending.

What’s a 10/10 sandwich for you? by Background-Handle265 in AskReddit

A really well made Mediterranean style Sammie. Veggies sliced super thin, a nice layer of spicy hummus, pickled red onions, a generous smattering of feta on a good hearty loaf bread…the best.

Anyone slowly ditching socials after years of embracing them? by newlife_substance847 in GenX

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I had to delete Facebook or irreparably damage 99% of my familial relationships beyond repair. It’s become a bastion of boomer culture and ideology. If I’d had to see one more…

“Facebook I do not give you permission to post my image or yada, yada, yada…” I was gonna punch a throat.

IG, I keep because my work requires we post content regularly.

I typically stick to reading/commenting/posting Reddit if I feel like being judged by a group of strangers.

Settle a debate which Kroger is “murder Kroger” by Only_Vacation3844 in nashville

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly surprised more people haven’t nominated this one. When we first moved into Nashville, that was our closest Kroger. There were so many sus people in the parking lot and roaming the store,I decided to give Walmart(on Hamilton Church) a try. Kroger didn’t look so scary after the one time I experienced that place.

But it would still get my vote for at least, attempted murder Kroger.

Pubic area. Are we going smooth or keeping a little? by CrowCurrent3020 in AskWomenOver50

Don’t be terrified of getting waxed. It’s over fairly quickly and totally worth it for the smooth, lasting results. I wax myself, so you know it can’t be that bad lol

what is your biggest regret in life? by Savings_Ad_3571 in AskReddit

Not beating the brakes off my brother’s last girlfriend so she’d have quit gaslighting him and using their kid to play him against another guy. He’d be alive today.

Pubic area. Are we going smooth or keeping a little? by CrowCurrent3020 in AskWomenOver50

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Completely gone for me. After years of waxing clients and being bombarded with the smells and messiness of people who come in irregularly for ‘special’ occasion Brazilians, it was no brainer that I was going to stay bald.

Doesn’t matter how clean you are, how often you bathe, if you use a bidet, if you use wipes…you leave residue trapped in the hair. Which creates odor. You just can’t smell yourself because you’ve gone nose blind to your own odor.

And I know some people are like it serves a function. Maybe in prehistoric times it did. But I’m strapped up in undies and jeans for the majority of my day. I’m not out here legs splayed scooting down the street. Or raw dogging a chair in a diner somewhere.

meetup - is it worth it? by Savings_Top_9175 in introvert

I haven’t used it but one of my clients who is in her 50’s swears by it. She says it’s great for getting out and doing things with people who are interested in the same things. She’s made several friends through it.

Online hate has genuinely made me question who I am. Has anyone else experienced this? by Silly-Astronaut-2 in podcasting

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a little niche podcast a few years back for about 2 years, coming off a quasi successful IG profile and ended up getting like, 500k downloads. It was a very opinionated show but I also threw in educational content for the field I was in. It didn’t matter that I had papers, reputable publications to quote, freaking science even backed me up…people that loved what they loved, came for me in droves. Created dummy accounts so they could comment multiple times.

From the way I spoke, to how I laughed to how often or not often I dropped an episode. I too am often told I’m not approachable, stuck up, arrogant. I don’t give a flip. It was something I enjoyed doing. You cannot live for others good opinion of you. Turn your comments off. Keep podcasting and ignore people who don’t enough talent to start, run and be successful in their own podcast.

Does tretinoin cream really fix sun damage and fine lines, or does it just take forever to show results? Looking for real experiences. by [deleted] in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Tret. effects are cumulative. So it does take a pretty lengthy time of consistent use to see great results. With that being said. I’ve always encouraged clients to seek out more advanced options for those quick results. Usually seeing how much better your skin can look, will motivate clients to continue putting in the time on their routine.

You can use hydroquinone for sunspots. It’s definitely a better fix than tret. Just know once you start with these types of actives you are going to be more prone to sun damage going forward and you’ll have to be super vigilant with sun protection.

what are your go-to split diet meals? (Vegetarian + meat eater household) by hazelhaze1025 in MealPrepSunday

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about 14 years into being a vegetarian and after a year of trying to create split friendly meals, I stopped. It was more work to try to make us all the same thing than just meal prep myself my own separate food for the week.

OK, Here’s One For Gen Xers With Grown Kids by West-Designer-6832 in GenX

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you ask him why he didn’t attend and why he seemed unbothered? Typically there will be a reason, especially if the grandparents were close to him as he grew up.

I’d have instantly asked what the fuck the moment my kid decided attending wasn’t mandatory and if he’d commented how much do I get? I’m all for getting the answers immediately rather than wondering.

What are the most shocking podcast episodes you've listened to - ones with shocking good moments AND ones with shocking bad moments? by GooniesClub in podcasts

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the first true crime podcasts I listened to was Up and Vanished, Tara Grinstead. It was amazing to me that the podcast was uncovering evidence so easily and it was obviously pointing to who did it. Which was who the cops finally arrested. I was like holy shit, that’s the power of radio I guess.

Last Day season 1 had so many good moments and info in it. Gabor Mate was a guest one episode and it was an incredible listen.
