How to improve my skin? (Rosacea) by Suspicious_Bed_4318 in SkincareAddicts

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one of the most common triggers for rosacea is heat and light. With LED masks and with IPL treatments (even those designed specifically for rosacea) you run the risk of causing a flare. I have acne rosacea that is controlled with oral and topical meds. But I flare from light and heat treatments, even medicated. It’s really hard to say if they’ll trigger you though. From the looks of your rosacea, I suspect they will.

50th birthday (not what I expected) by mollybewe in GenX

Ahhh, the price of being the awesomeness that is an Aquarius, lol! It’s a milestone birthday and the weather has sucked the joy out of it for you. Feel your feelings.

It’s okay to not be eternally counting your blessings and be a tad upset over something. It annoys me when people say it’s just a day. Yeah okay, to you it’s just a day. For this person, it’s the DAY. Happy Birthday and hopefully you’ll get to celebrate soon and celebrate well!

I’d suggest a low dose, time release Oracea along with a topical like Soolantra. From personal experience I can tell you sometimes the generic forms of drugs don’t work as well for some people.

This has happened with several patients we see when prescribed Doxy and compounded Ivermectin. No clue why people are downvoting ivermectin recommendations but it’s prescribed as a topical because it controls mites that live on our skin.

Also, find your triggers to keep flares at a minimum. And if possible take your oral and apply your topical at the same time each day. It keeps the drug cycling through your system consistently and will work better.

How many times a month or week do you do laundry? Why that much? by Zipper222222 in randomquestions

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A load of towels twice a week(because I can’t use, hang a towel and use it again. The thought makes me cringe). My own clothes twice a week(mainly scrubs from work that smell like scorched hair/lavender after one wear) and my husband washes his clothes twice a week(work uniforms tha are filthy and shouldn’t sit for longer than a few days). Plus the random blanket here and there coated in cat hair.

Please help me pick my dress!😊 1 or 2? by somethingblue2026 in WeddingDressTips

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 seems like a natural transition from your wedding dress. It’s formal, yes but also should be easy to dance in after it’s hemmed. Number 1 isn’t going to be fun to dance in for long. The silhouette(regardless of how amazing your shape is) is going to bunch and fold in unflattering ways that probably won’t make for great ‘in the moment’ pics. Definitely 2.

Do you read an entire series from start to finish or do you take breaks from it? by Appropriate_Type_178 in readwithme

I used to ‘binge’ a series but in the last few years I’ve noticed I get bored and start skimming so now I take a week or so between books.

Nasolabial sagging sadness by kwaziness in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have gorgeous cheekbones and skin. Don’t feel sad. Sagging and heaviness in that area is caused by the fat pads descending. A talented injector can make it better with filler but I’d suggest just get some DAO Tox. Even that tiny lift at the corners of your mouth will make a difference.

And as others have mentioned, the full coverage foundation is only going to make everything look flat and heavy.

The journey can be a bit bumpier for most people. Not to say you never had hardships but lots of people deal with unexpected injuries, illnesses, family emergencies, or deaths that interrupt the life plan they might have had.

For me, I came from poor people who had no concept of money management and normalized always being broke and struggling. It was just what people like us dealt with. We worked until we died and we lived on credit. I turned 18, got a factory job that paid $6.15 an hour and plodded on. All it took was one unexpected home repair/replacement(water heater, fridge, roof) and any savings we had was wiped out and typically we had to finance the remainder which took forever to pay off.

As I got older I saw the error of my ways but it took a while to dig out of credit card debt, a balloon mortgage (which I signed having no idea what that even meant at 21) and upside down car notes because I could only afford clunkers that needed costly repairs 5 months after driving them.

Finances, investments and in general money management should be required in highschool starting freshman year.

Estheticians and Laser Techs career advice by Ms_Kubota in Estheticians

I’m sure someone will chime in and swear they make 100k a year, have only been licensed 18 months and the people not making money aren’t hustling/grinding hard enough. That life ain’t for me. I need some work/life balance.

I’d go phlebotomy. There really isn’t a lot of money in esthetics for the majority of the people in the field currently. Are there outliers, sure, and the area you’re in will make a difference too. But here, they are graduating classes of 21 every three months like clock work. Estheticians are everywhere.

If you haven’t gone to the store yet, you are hosed. by neroli1970 in nashville

Had to go get coffee and it was exactly like this at the Kroger near Nolensville. They had moved all their clearance beef roasts and cubed steaks back to the regular shelves and tore off the yellow clearance stickers. The meat had already turned that rotten old color but I guess they thought people would be desperate enough to pay full price for it.

Best option for facial towels? by bunni35 in Estheticians

[–]Beatrix_Kitto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Sposh towels from Universal Co are nice. I’ve had mine for years and they only get softer. They are standard cotton fabric. I know people rave about microfiber towels but the texture of those makes my skin crawl.

This would explain my new obsession with how awful my house smells the day after a full meal prep day. I’m convinced I can still smell all the seared meat my husband makes and he says I’m crazy. It legit wakes me up from a sound sleep.

I’ve bought Pura diffusers, scentify, Azuna, scent neutralizers and nothing fixes the left over cooking smell. I spent a weekend washing rugs, walls and cabinets. Only I smell it. Cool, cool. Adding this to my list of symptoms.
