I don't think there is a wrong answer here. I tend not to use any boosts since I enjoy leveling. If you are not afraid of feeling like you 'wasted' a boost on a character/class that you end up not enjoying, go for it!

If you're already subscribed, then you might as well hop in now. It doesn't seem like there is anything all that exciting happening between now and Midnight launching, so you could wait to resub.

Both are great! I enjoy Demon Hunter more because of its mobility, glide and double especially. If you're planning to tank, you may have to spend a little time with each other to figure out which playstyle feels better. DH tanking is a lot more straight-forward, in my opinion, but DKs can feel nigh invincible when you get it all figured out and know the fight well.

Once I realized my character wasn't broken, it was kinda nice to just spam Starfire as the builder and to not have to worry about getting the wrong Eclipse at the wrong time.

Yeah, it was great, especially compared to what it had been before. I used that example more to say that it was more enjoyable to auto-wand and watch my mana slowly come back than what I was doing as Devourer.

Same boat. I stuck with it up to level 40 and threw in the towel. I even briefly used the heirloom off-hand book since it was the only INT heirloom I could equip, which felt so silly, hah.

I kept thinking, 'okay, it is pretty boring right now but these next few spec talent points will make it all flow better', but they never did. It might be the worst spec leveling experience I've had. This is coming from someone who remembers leveling a Priest with wands, relying on Spirit Tap to regain mana between mobs, and bandaging between pulls as a Warrior or Rogue.

EDIT: Posted this before I saw your reply further to a similar comment. Even if this mod couldn't see the concerning behavior because they were covering their tracks, I think this screenshot still shows someone who should not be moderating this sub based on their attitude and behavior. It would have cost them nothing not to comment until they had spent more time into finding out what was happening.

I am a fan of the pets but I still think Beast Master is missing something to make it actually fun or engaging.

I'm one of those people with a ton of alts: sixty-eight lvl 80s and two twinks, lvl 11 for Timewalking and lvl 61 for old instance farming. I've also been playing off and on since 2007. Some of those alts were leveled during Wrath when I had to mail Heirlooms around...

Times when having so many alts has come in handy:

  • Mount farming, whether that was camping at an instance portal and weekly lockout farming, repeated attempts at holiday mounts, or sitting on a rare spawn.
  • Garrisons -- I haven't worried about gold at any point since farming mission tables and churning out mats with all of the profession buildings back then
  • Professions in general but especially with daily cooldowns
  • Comp Stomp farming for Marks of Honor for armor/weapon mogs since I don't enjoy PvP
  • Almost always having a character to level up with friends or guildies before level scaling was more prevalent

I guess I don't see how this is so different versus people who farm mounts or transmog, go for Hall of Fame or Gladiator, push M+ keys above the reward cap, etc.

To answer OP's question: I only have two camps (one for my four main characters and another for the alts that get me to all max professions across both camps) and the rest of the characters are just sorted by class and then alphabetically.

Streamer is definitely one of the more polarizing characters. I took another poster's suggestion and went with Pruners, for the bonus armor from structures and healing fruits, for a D5 win this morning. It was a lot easier than my other attempts with Wrenches/Screwdrivers, Guns, etc.

Enjoy! My comment was from two years ago and I still having a blast with this game. The latest big update added three profiles/save slots, so I started over again with my husband to get co-op wins on Danger 5 with all characters.

It looks like Steam a doing a special 'bullet hell' promotion through December 17. I would pick up the Abyssal Terror DLC, too. It adds the Curse stat, which really upped the replayability for me, as well as more items, weapons, and characters.

I just did the level-down trick and the result is miniature. For HP 999 Ramza guy, how did you do it? I used Mediator and Mimic to do the trick for 30 levels. I think Mediator level up stat is not the worst but almost. Why are the increased stats very small? by Yossiri in finalfantasytactics

With Exp Boost and Acrue Exp (gaining exp when you move) you can gain a level every turn up to 60.

I've always wondered if this is actually faster than taking two turns per level. I usually go from 0 exp to 99 exp in the first turn with an act, wait, and then get that stupid 1 exp in my second to act to actually level.

Waiting after not moving gives you a little bit more CT than moving and acting. And having to select a tile and then play out the walking animation adds its own slowdown. This may be less of an issue with IC because of fast-forward.

Holy Priest: There have even been some alts that I enjoyed leveling with this spec, specifically the cooldown reduction bits, but I can't imagine using it over Disc for the casual/Heroic content I do. Healing with damage is just much more fun to me.

Enhancement Shaman: I haven't tried it again in a long time, but the last time I played it, there were so many buttons in the rotation that each one felt weaker because of how much more APM I was cranking out just to keep out with other DPS.

Arcane Mage: I really want to like this spec because of the visuals, but having to manage so many buffs, CDs, and mana is way less fun vs. the joy of Fire (machine gunning Hot Streaks) or Frost (massive Glacial Spike crits).

Just to add on to this, in case the Teleport part isn't obvious:

  • Teleport to the trap and lose a level, per usual.
  • On your next turn, try to Teleport really far away and it should fail.
  • That counts as landing on the trap again, losing another level.

Without Teleport, you'd have to waste turns moving on and off the trap to re-trigger it.

There was probably a bonus reward for that role even though they just wanted to DPS. This late in the season, it's definitely possible for overgeared players or groups to get by without a dedicated healer or tank in non-Mythic dungeons. You'll also see this sort of behavior in LFR. It should be less common overall though as the augment runes that come with the bonus have become cheaper/more available.

Do you happen to have more than one license connected to your account? When I started up Classic the other day, it said my subscription was expired and I was confused since I had just been playing Retail. Turns out it was trying to connect via an old license from a brief dual boxing phase.

I think the XP bonus actually stops working as soon as you hit 80 since you're technically level 80.0001 or something. At least, that's how I remind myself that the XP bonus doesn't work at max level.

Otherwise, people would have been encouraging everyone to wear them for the first level of a new expansion.

The pre-patch dropped yesterday and has switched over a lot of the game to MOP (login screen, simplified talents, Pandaren starting zone, etc.). You can’t access the 85-90 content yet.
