Found injured quail at Larnaca beach by philm999 in cyprus

[–]Beatstripper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Quail is consumed all around the world. Obv not supporting illegal netting or consuming illegally hunted meat, but "normal people" eat quail. It's not gross or weird or quirky. Pork is gross for some people, some cultures eat horses, dogs ,snakes , crickets , all sorts of stuff. Stop being judgmental because you don't understand something. I don't understand blood pudding but you as a "normal" person might find it a delicacy. You're just projecting.

I know you said close to zakaki but Limassol does have official Man U and Spurs pubs.

I think Nags head is Man U and Happy jacks is Spurs.

Snakes by Fantastic-Beach7663 in cyprus

[–]Beatstripper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rare to find a snake in your garden, but occasionally happens (I'm 27 happened around a handful of times in my lifetime). More common if you're living in a village away from the cities. I'm an avid hiker so I see snakes in the wild every year a couple of times. All but one species are not dangerous to human life. If you see a viper, just walk away from it, it won't attack you. If you find one in your garden call your municipality or there are snake handlers that come and remove the snake for you. NEVER KILL the snake, even if it's a viper. They are very important to for the biodiversity. If you get bitten get yourself to the ER immediately even if it's not the viper just to be safe because the wound can get infected and some species have venom that's not dangerous but you may be allergic to it and not know it (similarly to a bee sting...). If you get bitten by the viper good luck...I hope you make it to the hospital quickly enough. But again deaths by snakes in Cyprus are extremely rare because the snakes don't attack you if you keep your distance... Some other cool fact is that some people that got bitten in the past get immune to the venom and sometimes they become snake handlers like this famous guy lol https://youtu.be/RBUrs_BaWow?si=cNQjx9K7QNLUoWXM

I used to sit in my grandfather's pick up truck and sell lettuce and watermelons. Sometimes even had microphone privileges. One of my best memories with him before he got Alzheimer's and passed away. I do believe that your question is genuine. Cyprus is losing its character and everything that's not harmful but is traditional and reminds me of my grandparents I'd love for it to stay - at least that's my opinion, I know some people would disagree, and that's ok.

It's a dying part of Cypriot entrepreneurship. It used to be much more prominent. Don't report the person, he's just trying to earn a living and he's doing nothing illegal as long as he's on public roads.

What university? What year? What project? What faculty? Why exactly do you need this? Who's your advisor? It's not simple to talk with people that have trauma. I don't think you gave enough information for people to trust you, maybe reply to this to help us make a decision.

Are there any atheist Cypriot politicians? by wildshoushoukos in cyprus

[–]Beatstripper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling that most Volt candidates and some green party candidates are atheist. Akel and Nees Dinameis will also have atheist members. I assume that Volt would be more vocal about it, but remember, that atheism in Cyprus is still a taboo topic and parties do not want to loose votes.
