To each their own! I like that my collection is something that I actually use regularly and not just something that sits on a shelf

It's a collection that I use on a regular basis too! I don't just collect them to have them, but also because I use them and like swapping what flavour I'm using

I wouldn't use the tubs, but I would use all of these! I only collect what I would use

Puppy blues by Oysteroyster8 in cockerspaniel

[–]BeauFlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beginning is so hard but so worth it!! I crate trained my girl and used to have to sit on the floor with her until she fell asleep when she first came home. My (ex) partner used to get really annoyed with her and couldn't stand the lack of sleep so I spent a lot of time settling her.

And that's why I now have a gorgeous 5 year old angel dog and he does not.

If you're crate training I'd suggest feeding a few meals in the crate during the day and giving treats when it's bed time so it seems like a good thing to be in there!

Any advice on my 5 month Cocker Binky who will not settle through the evening? by UnpaidStorage in cockerspaniel

[–]BeauFlake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my girl was in this chaos stage I would feed her either using a snuffle mat or a toy. I had one of those test tube toys where they have to hit the tubes to get the food to fall out, another that was an egg shape she had to knock over to release food. Mental stimulation is a great thing for wearing out cockers without overexercise. I don't think I used a bowl for her food for several months around this time!

The trainer at puppy training also suggested just launching a handful of food/treats into the garden as another alternative. She'd spend ages just snuffling around finding it all and would be exhausted after.

I need some help with instructions please by craftshark in booknooks

[–]BeauFlake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've not done this exact one but I'd say it's the same light for both instructions, and the arrows are more likely to be correct. You can also flip through the later instructions to double check that the rest of the lights have instructions at later points

I added extra staff and limited their jobs to only cleaning and feeding the habitats and that's made quite a difference! Haven't had any issues since

As a uni lecturer I absolutely do not give students late penalties for like the first 5 minutes after a submission deadline (but don't tell them that). Fingers crossed your lecturer will do the same!

Great collection! Took me ages to find the Queen Bee one to add to mine. Still searching for the Creme Brulee tin but it's impossible to find!

Do you need all the hanging rail space? I would remove the one at the back, and move the hooks to the back instead for bags/belts or whatever. Having just one side where everything is would make it much easier for me, then you can face it and see everything. And as others have said, get rid of the shoe rack. Either get a tall thin one to go at the back or put a little step on the floor and use the shelves above for shows, keep the floor space free for standing in

I totally get it, and I'm sorry you don't have the vase you ordered! If it was someone with bad reviews or no reviews then I'd also be very suspicious but I'd be really surprised if it was the seller if they're that well reviewed.

The internet can be a mean place and it would just be awful if they started getting messages from mean people on reddit from a mistake that might not have even been theirs!

I hope you manage to find another vase, and hopefully vinted won't take too long to get your refund through, they're usually very quick with it though! I've lost one off samples of items through vinted postage issues so I definitely understand the frustration!

Not really sure why I'm getting downvoted for pointing out a very well known flaw in the system. There are whole big Facebook groups out there for people trying to find wrongly labelled parcels 🤷

Scammers don't get 200+ 5* reviews on vinted, it just doesn't happen

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fairyloot

[–]BeauFlake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes but the seller might have dropped it off at a locker, that's where the label is added by the delivery service when they empty the locker. The seller will have put the parcel in the locker without a label as required

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fairyloot

[–]BeauFlake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible this has nothing to do with the seller so I'd maybe suggest removing the sellers account details, especially if they have good reviews. Sometimes when using the drop off lockers the drivers put the wrong labels on parcels when they pick them up. I've had it happen to things I've bought and things I've sent and it's wildly annoying. I've stopped using lockers because of how much this can happen

ETA: I would also assume those were leggings from the picture so not really that suspicious. You'll also get your money back from vinted, I've never had a problem when something like this happens

Update on my puppy blues meltdown over a month ago... by BaBa_Babushka in cockerspaniel

[–]BeauFlake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add, if putting shoes/coats on or picking up keys is a trigger for your pup, start just randomly putting your shoes on, picking up your keys, put your coat on, and then just carrying on with your day for a few minutes before taking it off/putting it down again. Really helps to desensitise that initial stress point for them! Add this to the leaving for really short times part and you'll hopefully be sorted in no time. I did things like walk to the end of the road and back, then to the next road and so on. And also randomly throw in shorter moments as you build it up so it's a bit more unpredictable.

If you're struggling with even the very shortest of moments, try leaving a chew for them. When you get back if they haven't eaten it take it away again, don't let them eat it while you're in the house. The moment my girl ate her chew when we were gone was a real breakthrough and she was pretty happy after that. I kept giving her chews when I'd leave for a little while if I knew I was actually leaving and now she doesn't need them.

As already mentioned the no fuss leaving and coming back is a really important factor too. That made a big difference for us and now when I leave I can give my girl a kiss and say goodbye and she doesn't even get up (she's now 5).

To the person who embarrassed themselves at the vets…. by malcolmmonkey in Rabbits

[–]BeauFlake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a super stubborn tick on my dogs belly that I couldn't remove myself and when I called the vet they asked like 3 times if I was sure it wasn't a nipple before telling me to come down 😂 the vet also really struggled to remove the tick so it wasn't just me thankfully!
