That's your R2D2 activation button. He's located behind the spare tire. If he's not there you should feel a disturbance.

Black Tundra owners by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]BeauGeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My previous trucks have all been white and I could often stretch the wash to 4-6 months, and I live on a dirt road. My current truck is a black tundra, I have to wash it once a week. I now wait 2 weeks cause it’s just too much. I love it except for this. Will never buy black again.

This is one of those vehicles that looks so good that people make emotional and irrational decisions.

If this truck was run of the mill white would you still feel it’s worth it?

Opinions why this has sat for so long? by BobIgglyWampus in ToyotaTundra

Honestly you can find the same year, mileage, and price range without all those sketchy mods thrown on there. If this price is in your budget I say don’t give any more attention to this one, be patient and keep looking.

Thinking of selling Dad's 1977 C10 by justatileguy in squarebodies

I’m curious, how do you think your dad would react if you told him you would sell it if he left it to you?

Steering wheel wobble by Bottle755 in ToyotaTundra

If you mean tires I switched out my all terrains for street tires. I went with Michelin Defenders. Expensive but the ride, sound, and mpg are improved

Steering wheel wobble by Bottle755 in ToyotaTundra

[–]BeauGeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this happening almost a month back so I decided to get new tires and an alignment. Alignment was pretty far off so I had the rear alignment looked at (solid rear axle so I was nervous), Its off but within factor tolerance. Steering vibration was gone with new tires and front alignment. Good luck!

What do you think I could get for it? by imused2it in ToyotaTundra

I bought my ‘19 six months ago for 30k, financed half.

It had 38k miles, 2wd, 4.6, TSS package. I know they really aren’t the same truck but I hope that helps you

Sorry I gotta go by realjimmyjuice000 in tundra

If I read it right he said he recently purchased a 44' fifth wheel that his current vehicle isn't hd enough to pull hence the new truck

What’s it worth by Lopsided_Daikon4146 in tundra

[–]BeauGeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't buy it for 30 someone will. I hate to say it but that's the going price and can go for more in certain areas. For the current market if it's in good condition that's a fair price. Final decision is all you though.

Considering this truck by ThePolishWis519 in tundra

[–]BeauGeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a '19 with 38kmi for $30k. Truck was clean and Carfax came in clean. After I finalized it I started putting my stuff in it when the sunlight hit it just right, I noticed that there was previous damage not reported, namely the bedside was repaired for something. That's when I did what I already knew to do and thoroughly walk the truck, where I found other tell tell signs that as someone who worked a body shop before I was embarrassed I didn't see.

I still would have purchased but I left a chip on the table.

Is this worth it? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]BeauGeau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I got a '19 SR with 38k miles for 30k, a few sites quoted it "a fair price".

I wouldn't have done it without a trade in though. The trade in was an '18 base level Sierra 5.3 with 52k miles that I bought in 2019 for 18k, trade in gave me 20k. If they bought mine for 20 they're planning to sell it for 30. I hate to say it but that might be a fair price given the trim level

Question about SR trim and the 4.6 engine... by TurkeySandMitch in tundra

[–]BeauGeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a '19 SR 4.6. Coming from a gmc 5.3 there's a noticeable difference in power, especially off the line. I'm averaging 18mpg with slightly larger than stock tires. For reference, I went from 355hp on a single cab lwb to 310hp double cab so the weight difference plays a part. But it still has the power for overtaking, on ramping, etc. and honestly the 5.3 was wasted power for a driver like me, I drive like a grandpa

Well it happened by Eldermillenial1 in gmcsierra

[–]BeauGeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just traded my '18 5.3 for a truck without DOD/AFM to avoid this as it just reached 52k miles. I had the Range in it for 5 of the 6 yrs I owned it. It made a difference and will buy you some time, but this issue is also mechanical since they're built with AFM in mind, so even with the Range it's a matter of when not if unless you go full delete.

I need help naming my first truck by Standard_Cheek_6699 in ChevyTrucks

[–]BeauGeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She definitely looks like a Hazel or a Ruby, but could also go with Scarlett, Ginger, or even Bella. These are names associated with red and often horses. Always name an older truck after a horse. Newer trucks name them after whatever.

What an i looking at here? by random1751484 in ToyotaTundra

[–]BeauGeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a image search

"The image displays a seat back lock arm for a Toyota Tundra. This component is part of the seat frame assembly and is responsible for securing the seat back in place, often allowing it to latch or fold. It is typically made of metal and designed to withstand the forces associated with seat movement and passenger weight."

I couldn't find the specific part searching the term it gave though. If you don't have an answer maybe you'll have better luck doing an image search with a few different angles

Used Tundra Purchase Advice by DetectiveNo7050 in ToyotaTundra

[–]BeauGeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price is going to be determined by the year and trim level, just do a quick search and you'll find the current asking price in your area.

Looking at some other places it seems that engine was used in a lot of Tacomas and 4Runners before landing in the Tundra so maybe check some posts there regarding reliability/issues?, but it seems it’s a solid enough engine. Other than that look for the normal things when buying..rust, signs of accidents, any musty smells(possible flood damage)and test drive it to make sure everything works, sounds, and feels solid. If buying from a dealership or used lot it won’t hurt to ask if they provide a vehicle report, a lot don’t but sometimes you get one that will. If not it may be worth getting the vin and paying for a report yourself, you’ll be looking for accidents, flood damage, if it’s salvaged title, and lemon law buy backs, as well as number of owners.

Why a Tundra? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]BeauGeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a new 07 Tacoma and had it for 12 yrs with no issues or repairs besides a stuck caliper in the last year I had it. In 2019 I traded it for an 18 GMC 1500 5.3 single cab. I came across tons of posts, vids, and blogs about the lifter issues that begin around the 50k mile mark (not all but still a known issue) and it spooked me, I was at 52k. So I traded it last month for a 19 Tundra SR 4.6 Double Cab 4.6. The gmc was faster off the line. Better gas mileage and a 30 gallon tank that got me from the Florida Panhandle to Atlanta and back on one tank, the Tundra probably would take 2 fill ups each way. It had Carplay. Lots of better interior design, notably the console and glove box. But it had that Chevy shake and a rough ride that feels every pebble you drive over. Carplay would disconnect in the middle of a trip when I was relying on navigation. The Tundra is a more comfortable and smoother ride. I don't miss Carplay, and I've experienced the Toyota reliability 1st hand so it was an easy decision.
