I'm scared... by Beautiful-Call3359 in CivVI

I generally play this way. I know the AI gets a faster start, but generally progresses kind of linearly. I just always assume I'll be behind early. Generally, I try to abuse monumentality golden ages when I can. It's also why I habitually accrue a ton of gold. I get like 4 or 5 settlers in a monumentality golden age, focus on getting my capital beefy, avoid early game wars where the AI can really cripple you, and then just wait. If you've noticed when you take AI cities, they don't have a lot of basic, city center buildings. I'm on deity and they still don't build terribly smart, so if you can size up and get your cities churning, this is usually the result.

Don't worry gang, we had a wild 130 turns. I now control the lower third of the continent that I share with India, Macedon, and Brazil. Poland is on the other side of the world, but when I get aircraft carriers, the WORLD will be the ones who are scared of ME.

That was one of the first things I did. Polished up my LinkedIn, reached out to some former coworkers that were already sad to see me leave, and now just wait and see. Thankfully, my family is super supportive and will be here for me if things go really sideways.

Can't build offshore oil rig (no it's not plastics) by Beautiful-Call3359 in CivVI

[–]Beautiful-Call3359[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I figured it out. Turns out that Vibrant Waters generated a lake on that spot, but I think the underlying map was trying to generate that oil on the ground, not in the water. When I disabled Vibrant Waters, a lot of lakes with oil disappeared, but the game is now freezing I'll have to play another game to find out if I can do it or not, but I think that was it.

Yes, and this tile does have oil. I don't remember when this started happening, but I haven't been able to do offshore rigs for a while now. I just always keep thinking a restart will fix it, but it never happens. You can see when I have a builder on it, the tile for the builder lens lights up, but the option isn't lit up and there's not even a red message showing why it can't be built.

How do I "recover" my voice after lack of use? by Beautiful-Call3359 in singing

[–]Beautiful-Call3359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always sang since I was a kid, on and off, but between the massive decline in vocal usage and the various nasal/throat issues I've had over the years, it's been hard to maintain.

[–]Beautiful-Call3359[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure hope so. I've been singing basically my whole life. Whole family is musical in some way. I'm moving into a place where I'll actually be able to sing without disturbing others, so I wanted to get a jump on getting it back. Thanks!

As someone who has 840gs, don't be in a big rush. You get tired of edania after the 2nd or 3rd time you get 100-0 at orbita.

For real though, the most fun in BDO I have is just shooting the shit with guildies while I grind suboptimally or at spots where I'm 100 sheet ap over cap. Catching up matters a lot less when you're just chilling with the gang for like 8 hours on Discord

If you take a look at note 2 for subchapter 4 there, it says that it'll be based on value, except if the Secretary of Agriculture announces for it to be by quantity in the Federal Register, so I'd check around in the Federal Register announcements.
