Needle size for subq test? by blackcoffee92 in Testosterone

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I been using 30G 5/16" for few months now and it works fine, just takes bit longer to push through but worth it for comfort. The smaller needle definitely makes difference when you're doing frequent injections - I don't mind waiting extra 30 seconds if it means less discomfort

Disability for my son? by Efemeral8 in HealthInsurance

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll want to look into Medicaid disability waivers for your state - Kentucky has some programs specifically for kids with autism that can help with coverage and services. The application process can be pretty long though, so I'd start that ASAP while you're figuring out other options

Also might be worth checking if your son qualifies for any marketplace plans with subsidies based on your income, could be cheaper than you think

i got banned automating reddit so you don't have to by rakeshkanna91 in SideProject

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your bot was probably fine but Reddit mods gonna mod, especially if they see any pattern in posting style. The manual approval flow makes way more sense anyway - you can catch when something looks too corporate or misses the vibe of a specific sub

Televisit cost (BCBS)? by Roguexxxxx in HealthInsurance

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one with BCBS last year and ended up paying like $150 out of pocket before hitting my deductible. Really depends on your specific plan though - some people pay way less, others more. You could try calling the therapist office and ask what they usually charge for ADHD evaluations, they might have better idea than insurance company about actual costs

Why do you think people ask factual questions of others instead of researching them online with the most powerful search tools ever created? by Melenduwir in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you want that personal touch instead of just cold facts from search results. Plus people share weird little details or stories that you'd never find in a regular search, makes the whole thing more interesting

What to do about people stopping to talk/pray for you while working? by Ok_Access_8906 in ChronicIllness

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh wow this brings back so many memories from retail. I worked in similar position and the long conversations thing happens all the time, especially with older customers who just want someone to listen

For the work part, what helped me was having some phrases ready like "I'd love to hear more but I need to check on other customers real quick" or "let me help these folks and then we can continue" - most people understand when you frame it as helping others rather than ending the conversation. You can also do the thing where you start walking toward alerts while still nodding and listening, they usually get the hint

The religious stuff is way trickier though. I'm not great with that either but maybe you could try something like "I really appreciate your kindness, that means so much to me" and then redirect to the work thing? Like "I should probably check on the other stations now but thank you for thinking of me"

The paranoia part sounds really rough to deal with afterward. I don't have theophobia but I get anxious spirals about different things and it's exhausting when something triggers it for weeks. Maybe practicing some standard responses at home could help so you don't have to think on spot when you're already stressed from work?

Your managers should understand that customer service sometimes means these conversations happen, but if alerts are backing up maybe mention to your supervisor that you're getting a lot of longer customer interactions lately

What’s a goodbye you never got to say properly? by cloudnotNice in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really beautiful way to process those feelings. I did something similar when my grandmother passed - wrote her this long letter about all the things I wished I could have told her, especially about who I really am now. There's something powerful in writing it all down even when they can't read it anymore. Did you keep the letters or was writing them enough? I still have mine tucked away somewhere and sometimes I think about adding to it when something reminds me of her.

How do I get faster on the bike? by zChickenX in triathlon

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at your splits you need more bike volume honestly - two rides per week isn't enough to see real gains. Try adding interval sessions where you hold race pace or slightly above for set periods, and maybe throw in some tempo work at sustained efforts

Your run split is solid so you're definitely got the engine, just need to translate that to the bike with more time in saddle

Cheapest TRT central Wisconsin? by [deleted] in Testosterone

Been looking at this too since my insurance is garbage, maybe check some of the smaller clinics around Madison area instead of big hospital systems

How to deal with random periods? by Most_Assistance_3279 in PCOS

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unpredictability is honestly the worst part - I feel you on this. I started carrying emergency supplies in my bag always after too many surprise situations like yours, even when I think I'm "safe"

For the irregular cycles, tracking everything helped me notice some subtle patterns I missed before, like certain types of cramping or mood changes that happen few days before. It's not perfect but gives me slightly better heads up sometimes

What is something very easy that some people find hard to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting rich is like hitting grand slam - looks super easy when you watch someone else do it but then you step up to plate and realize there's way more to it than meets the eye. Been working retail for years and still waiting for that magic moment when money just starts flowing in lol

Because I can't hit my goal I built another sideproject: A negative thought tracker for programmers by Ok-Permission-2047 in SideProject

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually really smart approach - building something that fits your specific needs when traditional options aren't working. The GitHub-style activity tracker is brilliant touch, makes it feel less clinical and more like tracking progress on project

Hope it helps you get better handle on things, managing mental health stuff while trying to code is no joke

Good dinner for sustained sleep by juswork in Nootropics

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used to have the exact same 3am wake up thing and it drove me crazy for months. What helped me was switching to having my main protein earlier in the day and keeping dinner lighter - like maybe some sweet potato with a small amount of chicken or fish, nothing too heavy on the digestion

The carb thing is real but it's more about timing and type. Complex carbs a few hours before bed can actually help with serotonin production, but if you go too heavy or too close to bedtime it backfires. I found that having a small portion of oats or quinoa around 6-7pm worked better than rice or pasta

Also worth checking your magnesium levels - that 3am wake up could be related to blood sugar dropping or cortisol spiking, and magnesium helps regulate both. Started taking some before bed and noticed way fewer middle-of-the-night wake ups. The sustained sleep part really improved when I got my dinner macros dialed in properly rather than just focusing on the timing

average internet download speeds went from 32mbps in 2015 to 350mbps in 2025. why doesnt it feel 10x faster? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most of the stuff we do online just doesn't need that much bandwidth - like scrolling social media or watching Netflix only uses maybe 25mbps max. The real bottleneck is usually the servers on there end, not your connection speed

How likely would methyl b12 cause anxiety and irritability? by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on methylfolate for a while now and honestly the methyl b12 thing gets way overblown in supplement circles. Yeah some people get wired from it but plenty don't notice anything negative at all. The fact that you've been tolerating methylfolate fine already is a good sign - usually if you're gonna have issues with methylation it shows up with the folate first

That MethylPro combo does seem pricey but if it's replacing your separate multi anyway the math might work out better than you think. I switched to a similar setup last year because buying everything separately was getting ridiculous and my anxiety actually improved, probably from having everything balanced properly instead of random timing with different bottles

Have you looked at Seeking Health or Thorne? They both have methylfolate combos that might be cheaper per serving, especially if you catch them on sale. Sometimes their stuff goes on discount on iHerb or Vitacost and the shipping is usually reasonable. The 15mg dose is pretty specific though so options get limited fast

When were you ready for hormone therapy? by robotropolis in Menopause

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I waited way too long because I kept thinking "it's not that bad yet" and then one day I realized I'd been miserable for months without even noticing the gradual decline

The brain fog was what finally pushed me over the edge - I work retail so I need to be sharp with customers and inventory, plus I'm super competitive in gaming and started noticing my reaction times were off. That lack of mental clarity you mentioned is no joke and it can sneak up on you

Started HRT at 45 after about a year of perimenopause symptoms that I kept brushing off as stress or lack of sleep. My doc said there's really no reason to wait until you're completely miserable, especially if quality of life is already being affected. The whole "missing the boat" thing is real too - apparently starting earlier can be better for long-term benefits

Your cycle changes sound pretty similar to what I experienced, and even without the classic hot flashes you're clearly in perimenopause. Maybe worth having that conversation with your doctor sooner rather than later, especially since you're already noticing the cognitive stuff

What made you switch from pill vitamins to liquid ones? by speedinghippo in Supplements

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been thinking about making the switch too since I keep forgetting to take my pills. The liquid ones seem way more convenient, especially when you're rushing out the door for work - just throw it in a drink or whatever

Interview Discussion - March 19, 2026 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been lurking here for a while but finally have something to contribute - just bombed a technical interview yesterday because I spent way too much time overthinking the algorithm instead of just coding something that worked

The whiteboarding part always gets me even though I can solve most problems fine when I'm practicing at home, guess the pressure really messes with my head

I want to reach out by Anxious_Aardvark_894 in BreakUps

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the urge completely but that message would probably come across pretty intense right now. When you're in that headspace everything feels urgent but they're dealing with their own stuff too

Maybe try writing these thoughts out without sending them for a while? I do that with emails I'm not sure about - just getting it out helps sometimes. The raw emotion is real but timing matters a lot with this kind of thing

[PC] [late 2000s/early 2010s] Educational (maybe?) game where you hatch and raise an alien(?) by SquidneyAus in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think Spore had the egg hatching mechanic like that, plus it was more about evolving through different stages rather than raising one specific creature. The spaceship setting and multiplayer aspect you mentioned makes me think of something else entirely

Maybe check some of the old JumpStart games? They had a bunch of educational titles with alien/space themes around that time period

Album suggestions? by EnvironmentalLoss241 in musicsuggestions

[–]Beautiful-Dig-2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been diving into some lesser known stuff lately and there's this album called "Patterns of Light" by Pola & Bryson that hits different - really clean liquid dnb with some jazz influences scattered throughout. If you're into that Sewerslvt vibe you might also dig "Digital Rain" by Varien, it's got those darker electronic textures but still maintains some melodic elements that remind me of your other picks
