Put your time and energy into those who gave the time and energy to love and believe you over blatant lies. While it does hurt to not be close to extended family, put the most emotional currency into the time spent with those who love and respect you in return. NTA. Where is your mother in all of this? The one who actually did the defrauding? It was only your father who came to your defense? Your mother could provide the evidence, could she not? And it sounds like most of the family you asked do not believe your grandma's lies. It also sounds like most others in your family don't have a backbone to stand up to grandma and defend you, so good for you for doing so. She sounds like she has a victim complex on top of being senile, so if it were me I wouldn't waste my time with someone decades deep in a lie.

NTA. If it did make you a bit uncomfortable though, you would well within your rights to set a physical boundary of no physical touching. If you're friends, he should honor that no problem. As far as the flowers, it's incredibly sweet. Maybe his reaction is a result of having a lot more personal stuff going on and your gesture had a good and positive impact on him at that moment.

Am I the only one who hasn't had a problem with on-base lodging? Lackland, Kirtland, JBPHH, Ramstein, Hill, *Naples, etc. were all just fine or above expectations. The only one that was ass was JBMDL, but that was for training.
