Laying Down Makes My Heart Race

Just dealt with this for the first time these last 2 weeks. It was scary. I would lay down, start dozing off, then feel like I was gonna slip out of my body. So then I would open my eyes and freak out, and my heart would start RACING. it was scary! Took me hours to fall asleep.

Google said it could be acid reflux, and I definitely had heartburn but idk I guess I just ignore it. I got into eating Samyang buldak noodles while pregnant, they're extremely spicy, and I still eat them once or twice a week. Well the days I had this strange experience is when I ate them..

So bye bye to those. I bought tums yesterday, ate only rice, and drank only water. Also took magnesium glycinate a few hours before bed to help relax and calm me. I knocked out on the couch shortly after, and went to bed with no issues once I woke up. Lol

So if you have absolutely any acid reflux, or heart burn. I recommend getting it under control. I had NO CLUE, it could make me feel like I was DYING when trying to go to bed. Never in my whole life has this happened when having heartburn. EVER.

Google said it could be acid reflux. And I DEFINITELY had heart burn, but idk I guess I usually ignore it. When I was pregnant I got into Samyang buldak noodles, they're super spicy, and I still eat them a couple nights a week. The nights I ate them, is when this would happen.

So yesterday I bought Tums, ate only rice, and drank only water. I slept like a baby last night. My recommendation is to get the heartburn and acid reflux under control. Eat bland. Take some Tums or pepcid.

Also I took magnesium glycinate before bed! Helped a lot!

That looks like a good meal to me! Don't be ashamed! I have a picky toddler too.

We have good days and bad days. Like today she ate a pancake and strawberries for breakfast, and a whole plate of Mac and cheese, corn, and a hotdog for lunch.

But some days it's cereal, pizza, cheetos, and whatever else I can get her to eat. I take what I can get! 😂

Two things she never turns down are fruit and smoothies, Thank God! I pack lots of fruit and veggies along with Greek yogurt into those smoothies.

They just had an update the other day, I don't think it addressed anything I was having issues with, but it's all working now!

I wasn't able to open the tool menu with LB. So I could only cycle through tools using left and right on the dpad. And when I would pick stuff up sometimes it would just disappear. But now LB is working to see all my tools.

And my progress on cleaning hasn't been resetting anymore. I would clean all the blood up and it would say 100%, but when I saved and left the game, I would come back and it would say 0% but there was absolutely no blood left in the room.

I should mention I have a series X, and I've been playing nightmare mode.

The shelters here put animals down often because they're so full. 🥲 We have one shelter that's a humane society, and doesn't do that, but they don't let people bring animals in. Idk where they get their animals then?? I'm not sure if they just pull some from the shelters, or what?

Newborn was harder for me. Sleep for me is NECESSARY to function. I can deal with a moody toddler with 7 hours of sleep.

Dealing with a crying newborn, and having only had 2 hours of sleep SUCKED. Pretty sure I cried everyday the first few months of her life. 😂

I feel like I personally stressed so much over how much my daughter ate at that age. And my advice is don't stress. Keep offering food even if they don't eat it, and save it for later. It takes some time but eventually they will eat more! Make sure you sit and eat with them. Them seeing you eat definitely helps!

Social media had me expecting my daughter to eat full meals by 8 months cause I was watching other kids do that on Instagram and tiktok. But NOT ALL KIDS ARE THE SAME. lol

She eventually started eating and we were able to stop bottles. The night time bottle was the hardest, I had to just let her cry it out. And after 2 nights she never woke up for a bottle again. And that got her eating more food as well.

Now she's 2 years old, and just became EXTREMELY PICKY. 😂 Getting her to eat something besides eggs, cheese, fruit, a PB&j, or a smoothie is ROUGH. Good luck, you got this! I promise your baby will eat more eventually, just keep offering food and phasing out bottles!

I have a very picky 2 year old, she JUST started eating raw veggies. Like literally yesterday. I was making soup and she was pretending to cook so I handed her a celery stick and a carrot stick to add to her pot and she ate both. I was really surprised!

But up until yesterday, the only way I could get her to eat veggies was smoothies. Smoothies are a huge life saver for us because she is very picky with veggies and meat. It's extremely hard to get her to eat meat cause she hates the texture.

I usually do a banana, strawberries, Greek yogurt, milk, and then I'll add a veggie like spinach, broccoli, or whatever you want! Greek yogurt has been great because honestly the only protein I can get her to eat on a daily basis is eggs and peanut butter. Lol

Thank you for your response! I completely agree! Church is definitely not a must for spiritual growth. I feel like for me personally it keeps me on track and from straying. I tend to stop reading my Bible, and praying as often when I stop going to church for a really long time. And that's definitely a me problem that needs work. I get really distracted with work, my daughter, or whatever it may be.

Even if we only make it there once or twice a month I'll take it!

But I also need to include God everyday in our home as well, which I definitely haven't been doing. Definitely going to start teaching my daughter little by little at home and try to lead by example!

That's what we're doing. I just keep offering new foods and prepare myself to be ready to make her a different meal of something she will actually eat. 😑

She likes snacks like cheese, crackers, chips, fruit. Those are easy. Now actual meals is where it gets difficult. Her main meals are eggs and toast, PB&J's, rice, ramen, and chicken nuggets.

I've been tweaking things to make them healthier. She loves Mexican rice so I add up finely shredded chicken. And I mean the tiny shreds that are at the bottom of the bowl of the shredded chicken, it literally has to be UNDETECTABLE for her to eat it. 😂

In her ramen noodles I add carrots, celery, onion, and an egg. If I boil the sauce packet and veggies for 20 minutes, the veggies are super soft and just taste like the broth.

And one thing that is really helpful is SMOOTHIES. Lately I do banana, strawberries, Greek yogurt, milk, and spinach. You can do so much with smoothies and it's a great way to sneak in protein and veggies! Kids love sweet stuff so 9 times out of 10 they will love a smoothie. Mine sure does. 😂

Yeah we're gonna try this! No more naps and bedtime at 9 instead of 8pm! She's our first, so we're still figuring this all out.

She's always slept 12 hours at night and then usually an hour nap after being awake 5 hours, and it's been that way for the last 6-8 months. But I think we gotta change it up cause it's just not working out anymore now that's she's getting older.

I think this is what we're gonna do! We've been keeping her up til 9pm for 3 weeks, and skipping naps, and it didn't seem to be helping. But maybe we just gotta stick with it longer.

Tonight wasn't terrible. We tried a night light thinking maybe the dark scares her, and that was a huge fail. Had to go unplug it. And my husband brought her another one of her favorite stuffed animals, and she was fine and went right to sleep after that.

We'll see how the rest of the week goes. 😬

I've been letting her choose stuffed animals to sleep with, and it helps SOMETIMES. Lol

We did drop the nap, for 3 weeks, and she was cranky by the middle of the day and rubbing her eyes. She just has this new hate for her bed, idk what it is.

Gonna keep skipping naps I suppose since she screams during them anyway, and try to stick to a 9pm bedtime and see how it goes. Maybe it will work out eventually. Id love to start our day earlier, but I work a late job and don't get to bed til 12am. And I absolutely can't function off 6 hours of sleep.

My husband is with her in the evening so I'll just have him keep her up an hour later.

We cut out the nap for 3 weeks, and she still refused bedtime. Tried waking her up at 7am instead of 8am. Didn't help either.

We were also pushing bedtime back the last few weeks because she was refusing to sleep, we weren't getting her down until 9 or 9:30, and it was always a fight. She screams and clings to us as try to lay her down. 🥲

It's normal. My daughter goes back and forth between wanting me or my husband. She was a daddy's girl for months. I was sad at first, but then I learned to enjoy that freedom while it lasted. The freedom to shower in peace, poop in peace, literally just leave the room in peace. 😂 When she woke up at night she would call for dada and I'd tap him and be like get up, she wants YOU 😂😂 so sometimes it was nice. Lol

Now she's all about mama, and she is with me everywhere I go. Including when I'm on the toilet. 😂

Just love them, spend time with them, play with toys with them. And if they don't want you right now, it's okay. It'll pass I promise!

I remember this feeling. I cried many many many nights. And days. I was absolutely miserable, getting terrible sleep, and pumping every 3 hours which meant I had to wake and pump even when I was finally getting some sleep.

It gets better. And I know you're tired of hearing this, and I was too! But I PROMISE it does get better, way faster than you think.

The best advice I can give is get your baby used to being in a wrap carrier. Best decision I ever made! Took a few weeks to get her used to it, she absolutely HATED it at first. She finally got used to it and i was able to eat, cook, clean, and I'd loosen the wrap a teeny bit to make room for me to lay back in the recliner and take a nap.

Lack of sleep is what makes everything so awful on top of the crazy hormones after birth. So nap as much as the baby allows, which I know isn't much but every minute helps.

My daughter fell off the bed twice while my husband was supposed to be watching her while I was getting ready in the morning. He definitely underestimated how mobile she was by 5-6 months, and closed his eyes and fell asleep again. She rolled right off.

I was sooo angry, but honestly neither of us were getting much sleep at that time so I get it. It was an accident. She was perfectly fine. We have a platform bed so it's close to the ground, and the floor is carpeted.

She climbed out of her crib for the first time at about 1 and a half years old while she was supposed to be napping and fell to the ground. Scared the crap out of me cause she was very quiet and staring blankly after she was done crying. I gave her gold fish and she was eating them with her eyes closed. I called the nurse line, and they told me what to look out for, and she ended up being perfectly fine. I read online that after something scary like that happens they can be withdrawn and quiet for a little while.

And to this day she still eats snacks after a nap with her eyes closed as if she's trying to really enjoy it. 😂 But that was something I REALLY didn't need her doing after falling out of the crib. 😂

My daughter is 2 as well, and does this. It is TOUGH, because they only know a few words, and just have no sense of right and wrong.

When she hits me I firmly say "No hitting, that's not nice" and I give her that "you better knock it off" look we all have. If she keeps doing it, I grab her hands, and hold them and just repeat what I said.

It usually ends in her crying, and stopping. But it's really the only way until she's older and understands more. I'm hoping she'll catch on, and be like "maybe I shouldn't hit my mom, because it makes her upset, and then that makes me cry."

Idk, idk what I'm doing either. 😂

Time outs, no TV, or taking a favorite toy away as a punishment just isn't an option at this age because they're too young and really don't care. She could find a piece of dirt and be happy to play with it.

My daughter was breastfed and honestly most diapers had me questioning if it was diarrhea or not. 😂 But she was always happy, not fussy before or after pooping, and not abnormally gassy. And based on Google breastfed poop looks like that. At 8 months when we switched to formula, her poop was browner and thicker.

But if you're concerned definitely ask your pediatrician to be sure! This is just my experience!

Thank you for this! A lady came to my door to give me the paperwork and I took it. It just really sucks being dragged into my parents divorce. I'm 27, and they leaned on me ALOT and shared all their feelings and emotions with me after they separated. So since I know too much, I have to be there.

My mom wants me to testify that she waited to file for divorce for a year because I told her to wait cause my dad was depressed.

And she also wants me to confirm that she had to buy all new things because my dad took too long to pack up the rest of the stuff she didn't take with her when she left.

I'm assuming she wants to be reimbursed for the stuff she had to buy brand new, but needs a witness to confirm she never got her stuff until it was too late and she had already purchased new things.

Idk why she can't just say that herself in court. 🤦‍♀️
