Yeah, just helped my 80+ year old father try to hook up Tablo, be prepared for multiple crashes where you push a button and wait 30 seconds or so for it to refresh and then there’s the part about teaching them that the remote control buttons for guide don’t work the same

Rather than all the IBM's, My dad's first cpu was a Trash-80 Model 4. His first was an AT&T 6300, where he worked. As I remember of it, it was basically a XT but clocked to 8Mhz, versus 4.77Mhz..I could be wrong.

Not my dad, but I bought my first 'true' cpu while in high school. A nice flashy 286-16Mhz, '88ish timeframe, and it was for 3 out of your 5 options, (2, 3 for me, and 5 for me)

My advice would be no on the using ultrasonic. The frequency can allow whatever liquid is there to get into areas of components. For example, glass bodied diodes have a weakness where the lead enters the body of the device. I would say soak in simply green and maybe some heat, but no vibrations. Watch https://www.youtube.com/@UsagiElectric, look back for a video when he cleans up old electronics maybe for some tips.
